I remember him, even bought his album but I always felt he deliberately capitalized on looking like Paul....and the production of his music was purposely " Beatleque". Not original enough, IMO. Especially " She's Such A Beauty", could have come right off the White Album.

Aside from Shine A Light, Ladies & Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones & Gimme Shelter...I love the " Alfie" soundtrack...Mick & Dave Stewart's project! " Old Habits Die Hard" is a favorite song of mine. Also love " Almost Famous"....Tiny Dancer....hard to beat that!

Hairball, at least Mick knows enough NOT to release sub-par material. When he feels they're good enough to record & release, there will be a solo album...I hope. I'm NOT going to start that battle again about the value of his solo projects but I know I'm NOT alone in saying that I like most of his material. I still listen to " Wandering Spirit" ...." Evening Gown

So if you don't LIKE the word RELEVANT, try INTERESTING....Mick & the Stones will remain of interest to the masses...or at least to their fan base because they will put in the effort necessary.

Mick Jagger cannot SIT STILL for long! I agree with Bjornulf, the Stones will figure out a way to remain relevant. I'm sure Mick is planning something now..not sure what that might be but simply fading away is not their style. Obviously they've been working on new material, even though as Mick admitted, " Ghost Town" was written a couple of years ago...they've got materia

Yes, I did hear him say that! I NEVER asked for an autograph...way too much like " a fan!" Maybe it was good I didn't ask to have my photo taken with him...I quit while I was ahead!! I just looked at your photos..didn't see Rowan..I'll look again. Agreed, that was NOT Callahan at lunch w/ Mick. I reread my journal from that day and when I actually spoke with his lunch com

Hello, Bob. I'll email you in a few minutes! I was at the bar between 2-3PM on April 20th...they had their second show that night. So, do you suspect the man I saw having lunch with Mick was Jim Callahan? The man lunching w/ Mick was handsome, tall & tan, with light hair in his 40's. When I spoke with him later in the elevator he called Mick " his friend". My buddy, the co

RBK, now you're TALKING! EXILE played throughout the day of the funeral and " Wild Horses" as an addition. " Wild Horses" is my favorite Stones song with " Let It Loose" a close second so that's my one-two punch!

Mrjones, 1972 Tour was my first time seeing the Stones LIVE!! Loved that tour! Mick Taylor's " Love In Vain", the jumpsuits Mick wore, and hearing cuts from EXILE!! It couldn't get any better! Oh, seeing Mick doing Midnight Rambler, smacking the stage with his belt as he slithered across it...WILD NIGHTS! Your connections sounded awful but as you said, always worth it!

Yes, Tony, the Stones WERE on FIRE for these 2 shows...without a doubt 2 of the most energized performances I'd ever seen by them. And the first night ran 2 hours 20 minutes...with I think 22 songs. What I wouldn't give to go back to those dates! And your round trip bus ride shows you are a DIE-HARD FAN! Exhausting but worth it, I'm sure!

Yes, Daniel, that's right....but wait..the January shows were cancelled due to the ice storm...that's why they rescheduled to April 19 & 20, 1998.

Yes, Bjornulf, I got a tip from the Conceirge that the Stones were escaping through the garage so I flew downstairs in time. ( I had been tipping the Conceirge for info as to the whereabouts of the band. That's how I knew Mick was in the bar eating lunch that day! ) I have a framed photo of Mick & Rowan and I can see it from my computer desk. If you'd like a copy, email me and I

Thanks so much, Bv for posting that! Those reviews are great reminders of those 2 amazing shows. I have newspaper clippings and tons of photos from those shows, including Mick in red t-shirt and sunglasses and his leaping about during JJF...I caught him in mid-air! I also captured the moment he spotted me and danced over to me, lifting up his red shirt! I didn't know you then but I was among

Erbissell, Margaret Trudeau sure seems like an unlikely Stones fan!! How about PRINCESS MARGARET'S relationship with Mick in the 70's! Their friendship lasted up until she died. As to worrying about " looking like a fool", Steffialicia, I doubt you would if you had been in my shoes ( heels! LOL). The worst thing that could happen, I think, happened to my girlfriend who was so

Thanks, JJ Flash. I am not too hopeful....it was so long ago...and the sinful part of this is I HAD MY 35mm camera on my table and the person with me did NOT TAKE PHOTOS! She was too shocked by it all, I guess! She froze....deer in the headlights, totally unable to speak. After it all was behind me she said" How in the HELL did you just manage to have a real conversation with MICK JAGGER!&q

I'll start with the newspapers! I even called the hotel long ago to see if they had security video...no luck...THAT I might try again. It really is a long shot...I think those taking the photos were just fans waiting to go to the show that night & they had no idea Mick was in that bar...tucked away in a corner with a friend eating pasta...until he stood up and we began " our little

Thanks, Steffialicia! It would mean the world to me if I were to find a photo of us chatting..it was a long chat...all things considered. I had an enormous Union Jack for him, I'd bought it for him that afternoon...I had 3rd row seats for their show that night and was planning on tossing it up to him but I got lucky & was able to actually have a conversation and share a laugh or two with

This is a stab in the dark but here goes! On April 19 & 20, 1998 the Stones played 2 shows at the Molson Arena in Montreal, Canada. ( Now called The Bell Centre). I took the Amtrak from Albany and attended both shows. I stayed at the Westin Hotel, the same hotel that the band was staying at. On April 20, I met Mick in the bar/restaurant and it was an amazing meeting that went unnoticed for qu

Speaking of investments, back in 1984 I was visiting NYC quite a lot and on one particular trip, I found a gallery in Greenwich Village that had several of these original prints, signed & numbered. I have photos to show them...I stood by several. They were priced at $2500 each at that time & to this day, I KICK MYSELF for not buying a few....at that price! I'd be set for five lifetim

Mick's hair was very long and blackish during the Hyde Park concert in July 1969 because he's just finished PERFORMANCE, right? Not a wig. I agree that he'd not take a chance of it coming off with hundreds of photographers around. His hair looked similar during " Rock N' Roll Circus" for the same reason....almost black & very long....I like his real hair color mu

I understand your point, BV, however I've already told loved ones that if there is to be a gathering for me when I pass, I want " Wild Horses" to be played...a lot...no funeral, no wake just a small celebratory gathering with my favorite Stones song playing in the background. It seems fitting since the Stones are such a huge part of my life.

I disagree that he was a " victim"...he created his own misery but being out of control and trying to compensate for his inadequacies by beating on his girlfriends and creating a lot of havoc within the band....resulting in their not even being allowed to tour the USA if HE was in the band. He was a legend in his own mind. Just my opinion.

I have this " game" too so I started randomly trying to see how good I am at Stones trivia. I'll pull out ten cards at a time and just work my way through the questions...not cheating! I have to say, some of the questions I am CERTAIN even Mick & Keith won't know the answers to! I can hold my own but the questions about " What song off of Dirty Work" deals with &
