Does anyone know where these instrumentals originate from ? Is instrumental Honky Tonk Women 2 actually genuine Stones? Where do they fit in the dates of Complete Works of Nico Zentgraf ?

I can only speak for UK concerts. I went to Stones concerts in 1965 (Rugby)and again in 1966 (Birmingham). The only merchandise available (apart from printed programmes on sale inside the venue) was posters on sale outside the theatres. I don't think they were official. Even in 1971 at Coventry there was no merchandise at the concert in they way there is today. For the Stones it didn

In 2019 it will be 50 years since Brian died. What a wonderful opportunity to create a BB anniversary package AND finally acknowledge the founder of the band. I would love to hear all studio recordings of No Expectations including all the surrounding chat. Or isolated tracks from say SFM. A really imaginative package of sound could be put together.

There is a recording of Jagger singing Angie backed by the London Philamonic Orchestra I think. Is that what you’re thinking of. Its only Jagger no music by the band. Dont know the year it was recorded.

Re an earlier post in this thread. Paul Jones told me some years ago that Brian could already play harmonica when he met Paul in Oxford on his way to London. In fact he said Brian taught him a few things about playing the mouth harp in a blues style. I believe it may also be true that Brian taught Jagger to play ( or Jagger picked it up by watching Brian and others ). Hope this helps...it came

Reelstone.........would an un-circulating complete live show from Liverpool 1971 (soundboard 2nd show) be enough to trade with you ??

I think this issue is more complex because you are not comparing like with like. In 1969 tours / shows were far simpler and thus cheaper to stage and organise. In 1969 there were no stage sets to build and much less equipment to transport. Many bands still used a theatre's own PA system for example. There was very little or no lighting to set up. Just think of the numbers of people involve

Just listening to Out Of Control on this fantastic album. If you thought Blue And Lonesome was good, just listen to Chicago Plays The Stones. If the Stones themselves want to be certain of another Number One album, they should take some of their back catalogue into the Chicago blues style themselves. If you love the Stones get this album and play it loud !

Thank you. This is a great listen...........the real Stones......just as they moved from a "pop group" into a "rock band".

Blakeeik.....Great list..........sorry to be picky but..........On the 1971 UK tour you have listed Coventry twice, each with an asterisk.........so that means that there are two shows too many. 1971-03-04 City Hall, Newcastle-upon-Tyne * 1971-03-05 Free Trade Hall, Manchester * 1971-03-06 Coventry Theatre, Coventry * 1971-03-06 The Theatre, Coventry * 1971-03-08 Green's Playhouse, G

A big "Thank you" to EddieByword and Coowouters for all your help. And "yes" they are the 8 DVDs of Through Our Past Darkly from Coowouters. It was my youth, seeing the Stones only a few times a year on TV in black and white. Hearing them on Saturday Club with Brian Matthew (who's just passed away) and queuing for hours outside theatres to get concert tickets. I'

I have 17 zipped folders (to make 8 DVDs) from We Transfer on my computer in Downloads. I have WinZip installed. Now how do I burn a DVD from that position. Any help would be much appreciated. T

46 years ago tonight I went to both Coventry shows with my girlfriend. Fabulous memories of a band that were truly "the greatest rock n roll band in the world". There was no-one came close in live performance. Incidentally, CYHMK and WH were not played at Coventry. Prodigal Son was played but only at the 2nd show. Only the 1st show is in circulation. That summer Mick married Bianca

I seem to recall that when Exhibitionism was announced last year, the Stones web site said it would include previously unheard tracks. Does it? Or am I wrong?
