It was on this date in 1981 that the Stones played the LA Coliseum. Quite spontaneously, during the intermission, the crowd starting flinging thousands of paper cups, plates and other misc. junk through the air. The confetti of trash was quite festive and hilarious.

I was with some friends at the Pilot Inn having a quick bite to eat before going to the last Stones concert at the O2 Arena. By the time we finished our meal,the pub was nearly empty as there had been a mass exodus of concert goers heading to the arena. Thanks for posting Tony's pics! I was at that concert. Of all the shows I've attended over the years, since 1969, this concert, at the Chicago Stadium, ranks amongst my top 5. It was mesmerizing and exhilirating. The band was in sublime form, and tore the roof off the place.
