I researched it for a while last night. Open G works really well except - as cc mentioned above - that low f never really works. You have to high and it doesn't sound right, otherwise this tuning suits it nicely. Good old standard it seems to be, though am still half-convinced that there is some openg overdubs on the studio version. Thanks for your input, people.

You know I have managed to figured out how to play just every Stones song I have ad a go at. But something about this one aways eluded me: is it in standard or open G tuning? I've learned it in standard, but it never sounds totally right, and the times I have attempted it in openg it doesn't come out right. Anyone know for sure?
