McCartney is great live. Not to mention the fact that his tickets cost marginally less than the Stones and he gives us 10-12 more songs than they do. But that's incidental. Brian Wilson was the best concert I saw last year.

I think most Stones fans agree with your sentiments. It was just (and still is) considered a creative misstep more than a outright mistake. There are some great songs to be found for sure, as well as a few embarassing ones. It's documented that Brian was very against this direction they were taking as he wanted them to stay close to their roots.

I love Fogerty. One of the great musicians and writers of rock and roll. You gotta respect the guy. All the same, I'd rather the Stones have a keyboard player. While not necessarily essential, the instrument is integral to so many of their songs. I just wish it was somebody besides Chuck.

I think that simply implies the songs will be in a more "guitar rock" style. Like the song or not, you can't deny that the song at least had the Stones 'sound', more or less, with Keith's tele blazing up front and sharp leads from Ronnie.
