Not that I am trying to compare it every other recent album - that just isn't necessary - but it's a valid statement in my mind to say this. 'A Bigger Bang' has the more high energy feel of 'Steel Wheels' but it's treated with (what I considered at least) to be the grittier production of 'Voodoo Lounge'. SW was a fast paced album that pretty much rocke

Sorry if this is old news, but I had not seen it on here yet.

I saw them last October. Absolutely fantastic, even if the setlist had too many songs from the new record (the only one of theirs I don't really like).

McCartney is great live. Not to mention the fact that his tickets cost marginally less than the Stones and he gives us 10-12 more songs than they do. But that's incidental. Brian Wilson was the best concert I saw last year.

This record seems especially reviled by many a-Stones fan and I can't figure out why. First off, it's not an album proper so we must forgive any inconsistencies in the content. Anyway to my ears, there are some great songs here. "Don't Lie To Me" - great blues rock. "Heart of Stone" - I love this acoustic version as much as the regular one. "Try a li

I think most Stones fans agree with your sentiments. It was just (and still is) considered a creative misstep more than a outright mistake. It's documented that Brian was very against this direction they were taking as he wanted them to stay close to their roots.

I love Fogerty. One of the great musicians and writers of rock and roll. You gotta respect the guy. All the same, I'd rather the Stones have a keyboard player. While not necessarily essential, the instrument is integral to so many of their songs. I just wish it was somebody besides Chuck.

Exactly, John R. He was simply referencing what this new material would be like in relation to the group's last new material. To say it's an album in the "Don't Stop" direction is to say it's more Stones-y guitar rock than say "Stealing Your Heart" (trying to sound more modern rock) "Keys" (trying to be Al Green) or "Losing My Touch" (tr

I think that simply implies the songs will be in a more "guitar rock" style. Like the song or not, you can't deny that the song at least had the Stones 'sound', more or less, with Keith's tele blazing up front and sharp leads from Ronnie.
