She is a chick that a band from Michigan named themselves after & sound to some like the new version of Zep. They look like fun, they sell out fast, the scalped tix are expensive (at least in LA)...I just don't like Zep.

HDS was one of the best, Roger Ebert's quote on him was spot on. Great shot Rockman, looks to be at Dan Tana's (where else)? Wish he had a CD...always liked his music. Loved him in Straight Time.

Also produced some Charly Garcia stuff as I recall. Strange, I was talking about him with my wife (who is Argentine) just today.

Groovies are awesome. You got the newer addition of Victor Penalosa on drums (left a really good band called The Phantoms to join)...brother of Hector Penalosa of The Zeros (currently of Baja Bugs). The Groovies really are something hot. I still hope to see em live...but not sure I'll make a trip to LA for it.

Is it just me, or has Ronnie gone from the other guy to maybe the greatest guy in rock? He is always working, he seems incredibly personable, he has been a huge part of so many great pieces of rock n' roll. Sure, Ronnie is well known, but he still seems underrated. I become more impressed with Mr. Wood by the day...esp. in the offseason, when he's the only one still working. I haven

All I know is that one poster called another a child rapist...and BV said the victim should not have bashed the current Stones performance on this board and been more respectful.

For anyone who thinks there are other threads for him to vent, maybe they should not come to this thread themselves... The Stones ARE old & past their prime. Frankly, I thought Mick/Charlie/Ronnie all sounded pretty good...Keef...is still my favorite musician of all time, but he can't play anymore. No reason for the Stones to hang it up, it's their craft, do what you enjoy.

Um...If HankM does not get banned for the comments on this thread, banning anyone should be banned. Simply vile.

Rush claims it is local merchants paying off the media so that people rush to buy goods & raise profits. While I do not agree, it is clearly now a political issue (as is virtually all news), and thus, is against the rules here to discuss. I do not make the rules here, and whether or not I agree with them is moot...we should follow them...blindly.

More politics being injected. Rush Limbaugh says it is fake news...thus there is now a difference of opinion in the political world...and thus...it should not be here, as I understand the rules.

First off, just like AC/DC, it makes more sense for someone to tour getting big audiences than to tour getting small audiences, doing the same show. Further, why would any artist ever retire? Presumably, these are lucky folks who got to make a great living doing what they enjoy. What is there to retire from? If bored, change. Retire? That sounds like death. I'm an accountant...I get t

Hair - English @ Soho (on Soho website, but not on English Beat's site strangely). It's smaller, closer and not 1 night before Misfits @ The Forum. Mostly, my concert balance is $$$ & family. I'm still young enough (maybe) to keep my dukes up, but don't want anyone at home missing me too much. Re: Shidoobee, you may be right. I've been on this board since

Everyone got you were being silly...the "an outrage I tell you" bit has been around an extremely long time...even in cartoons from the 60s...there are just some on this board who have to be offended at everything. Regarding songs rehearsed...this is up there with the most absurd things ever on IORR. Suddenly BV believes these are private moments for the Stones, not to be touched...w

Quotehopkins wow Joe Ely. me and billy the kid. ! LOVE that guy! The Flatlanders (Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock) were originally the T-Nickel House Band. T(om) Nickel is my step-dad. Jimmie's son Colin is a good friend (just stayed at our house while on tour with Adam Traum - Happy's son). These are all really great guys if you get a chance to meet em. Jesse Taylor

My first concert does not really count. I saw the Joe Ely Band in 1981 when I was 5yo. My family is/was friends with all the Lubbock Mafia guys. My first real concert was The Rolling Stones in 1989 (earthquake benefit) when I was 13. I LOVED that gig. Just after that, I went to see AC/DC at the Cow Palace, then the Grateful Dead in Oakland & AC/DC again just after that. I think 13

Well...the Biltmore Four Seasons (owned by Ty Warner) in Montecito (Santa Barbara, CA) has been fully rented out for Jeff Bezos & the Amazon annual meeting. There are 6 Jet Streams that have been at the airport for a few days now. The public road is said to be closed off, MAJOR security everywhere and just today, large cranes building something. I asked above because Bezos could certainl

Belgrade in autumn sound unlikely. The Mega Concert is going to be early October and BV has said to keep your dates open in Autumn here in the States (hoping West Coast heavy). Adding Belgrade to that just does not make sense.

There is no way each act is demanding $7M for this. Dylan NEVER makes that kind of money while say the Stones can. An even split doesn't make any sense unless there is some sort of friends agreement between the talent...and I REALLY doubt anyone shakes hands to cut out a few million for their own mates.

I hear what you are saying, but wouldn't you think Mick & Keef would still want to perform (well, Mick anyway) and you know Ronnie would (if it were Charlie who was out). They could play by themselves, but why? Maybe create a new band name where the remaining 3 could continue to play together? Why wouldn't Mick & Keef want to play together if they remained a touring act? Why

So the Stones would be HUGE if Charlie or Ronnie passed on.
