Congrats also to Ryan Bingham. Saw him several times a few years backs and felt he was destined for big things. Nice guy and a great singer/songwriter.

Strange that there are still a fair amount of tix for their show in Milwaukee. Of course, flying in from Switzerland for an April show might be a bit insane... On a related note, have they decided to mix up their setlist after the fan complaints of the same thing every show?

Of course, the bomb scare show started the whole "Are you loose" schtickafter the band had been drinking at the Pfister while the Uptown was checked for bombs (we went to the nearer Von Trier for our libations). Springsteen has played Milwaukee on almost all his tours (several times he hit it more than once) and the setlists for Milw. have generally been adventurous, considering it'

I'm still sweating from last night's show, Springsteen and E Street absolutely smoked. We've seen him a number of times and last night in Milwaukee was another epic. Of course, most of his shows in Brewtown are phenomenal. Yeah, I know, kinda gushy, but this may be the last time seeing this configuration. Springsteen even joked about it when talking about a request sign that includ

I agree with bassplayer. This game was about line play on both sides of the ball and Minn. gave Brent (hee hee) all sorts of time while Rogers was chewed up the whole game.

He's an interesting guy with a pretty rough backstory. My favorite tale from him involved the murder of Dick Contino's ex-wife. Weird story and a few months after reading it, my wife and I were at Milwaukee's Italian Fest and who should be performing but Dick Contino. I flipped out. He was something else, driving the old (and some young) gals crazy. Ellroy did a great job telling h

It was a very strange show indeed. After the post Barbarian mess at the Arena, Ronnie had to perform a benefit show for a make up. We brought non-perishables (and, I think, two dollars) and were treated to a fairly entertaining, somewhat sloppy show. Ms. Phillips was one of the backup singers and most people recognized the wasted gal from her sitcom. Weird show.

I couldn't agree more, the clown is in, what, his fifties and sounds like he was wetting his pants reviewing a good (not great) stadium show like a teenager. The problem with older reviewers is they usually come off like him or a cynical "there's nothing that beats the golden age" grumps like many of us. Quotesundevil the guy in chicago comparing U2 to the stones is a twat.

It was a good show. I thought it was interesting that local scribe Greg Kot applauded U2 for not turning into a warhorse touring band like the Stones for this show/tour.

A friend was in a pub in Oxford with some colleagues when the subject of the influence of home areas. People started naming hometown music heroes and when it came to my friend they asked him from whence he came. He answered, "Wisconsin," which brought a snort and a huff. "what musical influence did Wisconsin ever have?" My friend replied, "Les Paul." He didn't h

I love King of the Dogs - the video is a hoot as well. Iggy has always been more than just a punk icon and his take on literature through NOLA jazz is a fun alley to visit.

You have to be kidding. Cohen had all sorts of chuckleheads doing the cellphone thing, as there were the following night when The Stooges performed. Did I mention both show referenced were in Dublin? Both shows were great in spite of this foolishness.

Did anyone notice some of the "artists" referenced in the article? No wonder he has so many problems. 11. Keep the holier than thou music writers away from the real fans so they can enjoy the show with a minimum of harrumphs and sighs. While I tend to agree with some of the article's "rules", he is off base often enough to make it useless as the guide he clearly hopes
