QuoteTooTough 2:18 h - 23 songs - by nearly 70 year olds. Even if I wasn´t a Stones fan, I´d be deeply impressed. They could have blown this occasion big time. But under pressure they still deliver (as so many times in the past). Of course, we just saw 78yr. old Leonard Cohen clock in at over three hours AND he was moving a good deal of the show.

My sister and I were able to sneak into The Rosemont for one of their shows. In '75, about a month before the Milw. show, my sister, as a passenger, was in a car accident that left her paralyzed and, of course, unable to go to the show. In '78, she was in Chicago, but was at the Rehab. Institute and, again, unable to go. !981 and she was determined to go. She enlisted me to drive to Chi

It seems a better comparison would be Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. I'll take the Bard of the Boudoir over his Bobness in a heartbeat (or two).

Boy, I'm waiting for some of posters here to tell those kids to get off their lawn. I can understand trying to get some sleep, but the show wouldn't have continued into the wee hours. Besides, it's a bit like complaining about the noise when you move near an airport.

Consider the source. This is not a major paper. It's a bizarre broadsheet that was founded in 1982 by Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, and until 2010 was owned by News World Communications, an international media conglomerate associated with the church.

Dandy song and there's a great cover by Alejandro Escovedo/Jon Langford that captures the broken twang call and response feel in the song.

We caight him at his club this past Jan. and the man still smokes the joint. Such a class act as well, always spends time with his fans after his show.I wouldn't mess with him, though. About ten years ago we were at one of his Legends shows where a group of very sloppy drunk patrons were told to leave after breaking glasses and falling into other patrons. At the end of the show, we were leav

I thought the whole thing was a bit of a train wreck, but SB halftime shows generally fit that bill. She did come across as a bit rickety, which will be explained away from her hammy (a bit ironic given the number of guys on the field who played through it), but how much can you stuff into a few minutes?

Yes, Bad Company,Tom Petty, The Who and Blue Oyster Cult. I'm finding we're going to many more "smaller" acts as well. I believe the last "big show" was Pearl Jam 20, which was a draw because of all the other acts on the bill. Festivals are bigger on our schedule too, more acts and the option to walk away if a performance is weak.

Saw the Soldier Field show and enjoyed it for a number of reasons (July, Peter Tosh as one of the openers, my friend "talking" to Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas above us in the press box), but my fave memory was watching a drained Keith going down the stage stairs and sprawling on the ground while the rest of the band, including MJ, milled around until he jumped up and pointed up the sta

I did the list, but I'd definitely include Be Bop Deluxe. Their 70s output was some of the best rock and it holds up today. Elliot Murphy could bring it back then and I was a sucker for bands like Head East, Frumpy and Silverhead. Hey, and what about the mighty Capt. Beefheart? Big Eyed Beans and Longneck Bottles indeed! 1. Stevie Wonder 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Elton John 4. Pink Floyd 5. R

Interesting that ABC won't let its local affiliates run interviews with JD while he's touting The Rum Diaries because their Disney masters are afraid it will have an adverse impact on the Pirates franchise. Sheeesh!
