Interesting that ABC won't let its local affiliates run interviews with JD while he's touting The Rum Diaries because their Disney masters are afraid it will have an adverse impact on the Pirates franchise. Sheeesh!

Just finished a week with Richard Thompson (great as ever), Imelda May (woo hoo) and Wilco/Nick Lowe. Man, Nick still can hold a packed house spellbound. Next on the list? A pair of Wisconsin shows with Drive By Truckers in a couple of weeks with a few local acts beforehand. Vroooom

Saw her in Chicago at Lolla where it seems she put on one of her last coherent shows. Quite a performance. RIP Amy

A part of the American Mythology. The Pied Piper has hopped on the long lean note and can definitely make it float.

Clapton, Dylan and Zep. All three built on previous musicians who I prefer over their work. Just an opinion. I do enjoy both Waits and Cohen, the latter because I like a bit of the maudlin now and then. TH has been low on my list as well, but more for the fact they're overplayed.

Saw JB last week and he was still playing some mighty stuff. He's still my fave out of the three Yardbirds alums, probably because he changes often and has the skill to do so.

At last night's Jeff Beck RnR Party, Imelda May stopped at the start of a song to call out a lardhead in the front row and had the jerk tossed. As he was trying to put in a few stupid comments (we noticed him earlier when he loudly told an usher that he was going to "take a @#$%&' piss, if that's ok" - as I said, a clueless fool) on the way out of his row, Jeff whipped of

Irish Tour '74. Caught him in late seventies at a club in Madison with my sister and a friend. My sister and are big fans, but after the show our friend asked why we took her to a psychedelic band. I'm still confused over that take of his music. I just wish there were more chances to see him.

Quote24FPS A minor figure in rock. Definitely not a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. A perpetual opening act. One of the key influential figures in live rock music with a run of very successful early works still regarded as great rock music. Perpetual opening act? Seems to have opened for The Stones and was otherwise headliner/s since the early seventies. He/they should have been in the RRHOF years

Drive By Truckers - usually dismissed as Southern Rock, which means the disparagers probably have never listened to them, just read some album titles Cheap Trick, definitely - great band but my wife can't stand them even after seeing them numerous times

We saw him at Farm Aid and he turned in the best performance of the day. I had heard him before but didn't know what to expect. Quite impressed.

Two hours ago, picked it up at Borders for 18 bucks. We live in interesting times that prices are floating around when the book is readily available.

DBT was great and Jimmy Cliff was fantastic. New Pornos were good and The Constellations were good early. The less said about Lady googoo the better, overrated tripe for teen girls who don't know any better.

Agree with most of this list and I'd flip in Lynrd Skynrd, who did a pretty good job wowing audiences who came to see the big Brit bands

I won my first from a radio station and it happened to be Exile on Main St. I had to buy a player to listen to it. Still have the cd (along with a couple of thousand more).
