not as powerful as Dylan's "Masters of war" but really interesting! Mick still has it!

TY is kind of great only because it has 100% gems SMU and "Waiting on a friend" on it. I also like "Hang Fire" and "Worried about you", but I can easily live with out other tunes. Plus TY is a compilation album quickly made for the upcoming tour. So the last GREAT album for me is SG, which I love as much as Sticky Fingers my all time favorite. As far as I can judge

The CD version of SOL is far better than single. What I love is "This place is empty", great ballad!

SOL does appeal to those who do not usually dig Stone's music. For example my wife, she likes classics, Beatles, Pink Floyd and pop stuff. Yesterday I played SOL on my computer while working on it. She heard it and said: "Oh, a very nice song! Who's that?" "Laugh" is a little bit depressing, and mostly people prefer to listen to "silly love songs".

Rock as a form of social protest in 60-70s maybe yes, rock as a music no. It's very sad to hear such a crap from a guy who is responsible for the music people listen on the radio.

All I can say I'm very impressed. There is no bad or just "ok" song. The tunes are catchy and melodic, guitars and drums are raw, lyrics are best in years and Mick sings even better. There is a strong funky and raggey feeling in the whole album, it's the same as punk in SG. Time will show if Bigger Bang is a classic or not, but it is a VERY STRONG album.

I love "Rainy Day Women", really nice tune to cover with lots of Mick's harmonica, Charley's drums and brilliant funny lyrics. By the way Dylan plays "Brown Sugar" quite often.

SOL n'est pas insipide, pas du tout. Jagger's solo works as a negative comparison (indigeste sic!) and that sweet final mentioning of Keef's parts as the most interesting on the album. I respect that kind of approach to Stones music, yes I don't share it. But this review didn't change my positive expectations.

I think RJ with all it's chicken, fox (sounds like f@cks), cocks and lips on the hips is surely a mannish song. Women are never pleased with rough justice on them

WOW! Can't wait till September! The only thing I didn't like in the review is this "last album" stuff, I believe there will be another one. Success always inspires to try one more time.

One friend of mine is a real audiophile; he even bothers about the reflection of sound waves from the walls of his room. Every record he listens to is not good enough: the mix is unprofessional or the levels are too low or too high. Now he's listening to the test sample CDs and always discusses the quality of speakers and amplifiers not the music. The same way Mathijs is too keen on technic

As for me Dylan's 2001 "Love and Theft" was even better than "Time Out Of Mind" in 1997, although my opinion is controversial. The fact is that Bob came up with 2 wonderful albums. I do love VL and BtB, there is no period of decline for me. I like all new songs and look forward for a "Bigger Bang". I'm sure it is going to be GREAT.

well, every book has several levels in it, and the better novel is the more comlicated game of meanings it contains. Bulgakov's languge is brilliant, so it can be translated to some extend of course. Those parts of the book where he mocked of the life right arter 1917 revolution are not really something typically russian. Actually I doubt that people differ much from country to country. Bu

Right now I'm finishing Umnerto Eco's "Baudolino", Eco is cool as always, can't wait for the translation of his 2004 novel into Russian. Befor that I read a new book by Victor Pelevin. I know he's got some fine English translations. So try him, his really great. Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita" was one of my favorite books when I was in Univercite.

Maybe it's a little bit early to rate SOL untill we listen to the full CD version. But I like it very much and it grows on me. 1 Out Of Tears / All Ready Over Me / Worst / Almost Hear You Sigh 2 Slipping Away 3 Blinded By Love/New Faces

I was reading stones LP reviews from their "Golden Period" late 60 early 70. Poor Stones!!! Duaring all those 43 years there is allways a chorus of critics to tell them that they have "lost their previous magic in song writing". Here is a link to Sticky Fingers review by Jon Landau from the June 1971 Rolling Stone issue. and here are my favorite quotes: As I listen

the more I listen to the new songs the more I like them. SOL is no Adams or Aerosmith ballad. Listen to the sound, it's not sweet, it's raw. I love the guitars and Jagger's voice, the song really grew on me. RJ is a cool rocker, but IMHO ONNYA is the best one I've heard from the new album.

Well I don't think it's "100% crap". Yes it reminds "Brand new set of rules". And so what? How many people listened to this song? not so much I suppose according to the poor sales of Goddess. you say the lirics are poor and cliche. Sorry, and Angie? with all its "don't weep", "sweet kissis", "no loving in our soles"... is somethi
