QuoteSockers56 QuoteWembleyWhammer Does anybody know how warm/cold the temperature will be at Ford Field? I think it is an inside arena with a closed rooftop, but not sure how to dress yet. Last week I was at Little Caesars Arena next to Ford field and it was cold inside, so I had to wear a jacket. Does anybody know if there is a wardwrobe option at Ford Field? Yes, it is an enclosed stadium. N

Quotecrholmstrom QuoteHairball I saw this show pre-pandemic at the Wiltern in L.A. - great stuff, but thinking once might have been enough... The tickets are quite expensive (same with Steve Hackett). I'm going to wait until closer to the show & see where the finances are. When I saw Mason in 2019, ticket prices were slashed dramatically in the days leading up to the concert. I pic

A couple of fun facts about Martha. When she was elected to the Detroit City Council, her campaign posters said, "Martha Reeves and The Vandellas for Detroit City Council." And when the Council met to discuss what should be done with the land on which Tiger Stadium stood after the stadium was to be torn down, Martha seemed completely unaware that the Detroit Tigers no longer played at T

QuoteHairball I saw this show pre-pandemic at the Wiltern in L.A. - great stuff, but thinking once might have been enough... I wouldn't mind going again, but the nearest shows (Cincinnati, Akron and Chicago) would all require a 4-hour drive in the dead of winter. Akron Civic is a particularly nice 3,000 seater, as well as being the site of a 1972 DSOTM Pink Floyd concert. And I know a good

Quoteloog droog "You Only Live Twice" is probably my favorite James Bond film song. On her TCM interview, Nancy said she really didn't feel up to the task, mentioning that at the session that the producers should use Shirley Bassey instead. But I think she did just fine. I think it's the best thing she ever did, in addition to being the greatest of all the Bond t

I saw Nancy do a show at the Limelight nightclub in New York in 1995, and sure enough, there was a surprise appearance by Lee Hazelwood. He was wearing leather chaps, and cut a figure that, even for New York, was just so campy in a really over-the-top sort of way. They sang a duet of "Velvet Morning" and when Lee, singing in the deepest bass voice I'd ever heard in my life, intoned

Watched it today with an audience of fewer than 20 people in a tiny "screening annex" that seats around 70. While I agree with RollingFreak that the first half of the film is unrelentingly tedious, it seemed to me that the tedium only abates when the chronology finally breaks free of the all-pervasive first album. Things really only start getting interesting when it begins to delve into

QuoteRollingFreak Was unfortunately pretty underwhelmed by this. The obvious sadness is that Lou Reed isn't alive to speak on it. I know thats obviously unavoidable, but listening to John and Maureen reflect on this time now I'd love to hear Lou's thoughts on this official document. I know there's a million interviews of him discussing the Underground, but just feels incomplet

In other shocking news, Brian Epstein was a homosexual. Seriously, this revelation of Paul's about John breaking up the Beatles has been common knowledge since John said as much when he was interviewed by Rolling Stone Magazine 50 years ago.

Exactly how tall is Ronnie anyway? Reason I ask is, the guy with the red arrow pointing at his head looks like he's no bigger than Paul Simon or Phil Spector. Seriously, like 5'2" or something.

Also, Michael Gandolfini is 22 years old, so shouldn't this prequel really take place sometime in the early 1980s? I'd really like some clarification on this.

James Gandolfini was born in 1961, so it seems odd to me that this prequel would take place in the late 60s and early 70s, unless Tony Soprano was supposed to be significantly older than the actor playing him in the original series.

I could see someone like Bob Seger being able to do this, because a lot of people still have an image stuck in their heads of him looking the way he did in the 1970s, and of course, he doesn't look like that anymore. Age has given him the perfect disguise. But Mick Jagger? No matter how old he gets, he still looks like Mick Jagger. There's virtually nowhere in the United States he could

Quotewith sssoul The Beatles don't rate instruments? One of them appears to have no pants either. I seem not to be the target audience for these items. Paul's character wears beige trousers in the animated Yellow Submarine movie, which is accurately reflected by his naked from the waist down appearance as one of these satanic little figurines.

QuoteMathijs Fantastic they still tour. I like how Steve Jordan rocks and speeds things up a bit, that was well needed. But what a horrible setlist... Mathijs I thought it was kinda cool that they did three songs from '66 (two of them back-to-back), a year that sometimes gets overlooked at their live shows.

QuoteNikkei I wouldn't overdramatize the lack of Brown Sugar, it's probably going to be back in a week (more than enough time for several cancel culture meltdowns of course) I don't know. It's not like it's a song that rotates in and out of the setlist. Prior to last night, it had been played at every Stones concert since Altamont.

Quotemakemeburnthecandle Phil recently stated in an interview that Genesis will no longer exist after 2021 so apparently he no longer wants to tour or it’s physically too much for him. Too bad the US leg is limited to a handful of cities and excludes most regions of the country. The 2007 tour was rather limited as well. 20 cities in Europe and 20 cities in North America. Can't really argue with that setlist. It's a good one. Here's the audio of last night's "Lamb Lies Down," mellowed out and slowed down to "Carpet Crawlers" speed. Kinda cool that they're doing it at all, though. They didn't play it on the last tour in 2007.

It was originally supposed to have been a Paul Simon solo concert. Then he decided he'd like to have Artie join him for a few songs. Rehearsals began, and gradually, they kept adding more and more S&G songs, to the point where fully half of the concert was going to be a Simon and Garfunkel reunion. That would have made Paul, in effect, the opening act for Simon and Garfunkel. He didn
