My favourite is the bit about them being "proud sponsors of the American dream". You have to have ACHIEVED the Ameican dream in order to be able to see them! Or maybe you can get the cash by refinancing your mortgage, which just happens to be the very business that tour sponsor Ameriquest is in!

The Who are the all-time worst offenders in this area, but you know what makes me feel really old? Aerosmith doing Buick commercials. Buick is the ultimate Old Man's Car. And speaking of whores, who can forget this memorable lyric: "If I was a hooker, $1,000 would be my price" --From "Dance, Pt. I"

That's what it said on all my old LPs. Seemed very "state-of-the-art" at the time, but is now regarded with total contempt. As near as I can determine, it's a method of tricking your ears into thinking they're hearing a stereo recording when in fact they're hearing a mono recording. How exactly is this done? From what I gather, it's simply a process of split

Well, I've been reading all the posts about ticket prices, and it's occurred to me that perhaps the Stones relationship with their fans is not unlike the relationship between a drug dealer and his customers. Ever see the James Bond film Live And Let Die? What is Mr. Big's plan for world domination? It is to give away free smack. Until all his competitors are put out of business

1. New York, but now living in Detroit. (Don't ask.) 2. 45/1966. 3. Found a cassette of "Big Hits" in my aunt and uncle's collection. Liked it better than the other stuff they had (Petula Clarke, etc.) 4. Oddly enough, only four (five if you count The New Barbarians). I'll definitely be at Comerica this year. Not sure about any others. 5. Not going to rate it until I

The overdub was minimal, I think it was just on Listening To You, if I remember correctly. But why do it at all? Especially after 30 years? The problem is they never do anything new, so they have to busy themselve

Stones mythology has it that every time the Stones record an album, they record twice as many songs as are actually released. The myth also has it that the unreleased songs are every bit as good as the released ones. If there's any truth to this at all, a Rolling Stones Anthology box set would be a fascinating listen. Way more fascinating than the Beatles Anthology. The Beatles collection re

You've all heard the bootlegs, and you know that this would have been the greatest live rock album of all time. I don't think it will ever come out. Why? For the same reason we will never get an expanded "deluxe" version of Ya-Ya's. Ya-Ya's features extensive studio "fixing" that makes the original, un-fixed tapes sound too "raw" by comparison, an

Have any of you seen one of Mick Taylor's solo gigs? What was his response to fans who requested Stones material or who in any way demonstrated any kind of enthusiasm for the Stones? I've got a few stories. I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours. I can certainly understand why the guy might be a little bitter, but why take it out on the very people who are most interested in su
