Its okay to keep on posting about keith's riffs and rhythm and Ron Wood's imaginary lead guitar so why can,t we discuss Taylor's vibrato you cant discount his contributions to the greatest body of work they produced live and in the studio.I do not just say vibrato go back my posts are more detailed and I try to make it worthwhile out here in IORR

Another example of Taylor's greatness - take any tumbling dice 73 version and listen to the VAMP outro when Keith plays his riff in open tunings and then listen to Taylor's VIBRATO he actually PLAYS back KEITH's RIFF so beautifully that brings the song to life and another level.YEAH he plays back KEITH RIFF so yeah Taylor can play riffs rhythm and all the rest and is brilliant.

What Nice Try the truth and his Vibrato is all out there to listen to without any dubs.Taylor stands tall and delivered in front of the live audience. I guess I am watching a different video. Its all out there the Vibrato does not hide behind any gimmicks and its all documented for generations to come accross until these live perfromances are released from the vaults where now they are stacke

If you can,t always get what you want and need to go back to a time when the stones were the greatest rock band and forget how you grew up with the Woody Era like me.Then go to www.micktaylor.net click on MT Links and go to Jiene Pieres Site and click on the video of SFM from 1973 Frankfurt I think and listen to how Taylor takes the stones to another level. This is an amazing video clip.Watc

As for taylor only playing blues penatonic scales thats so far from the truth. The reason why Taylor was and is so great is that he plays in both major and minor scales and is so fluid. Winter - His solo on winter is not a blues scale listen to his melodic wonderment and the SUSTAIN he CREATES and the ringing of the notes. Time Waits - Not a blues scale Gimme Shelter and YCAGWYW - not

The sad truth is the stones have done nothing since taylor left they put out one good record in Some Girls. They sold out and play their hits. There 20 year run was over in making great records. Ron Wood has tin tone and his contributions with the stones have been in the studio where he is safe and does not have to play to a live audience. Did you see him say to himself on his solo on CYHM

Vibrato something every lead guitarist should STRIVE for or why bother playing in a band and calling yourself a musician.

with taylor they never turned down his volume thats the key he had the ability to improvise and take the band to a higher level musicially. with wood - THEY had to make canned arrangements and for the most part they turned him down in the MIX or OFF and used chuck leavell to carry the weight.

IMO,the set lists are canned and have been that way since 1981.yes keith plays from his heart but its the same chuck berry riff angular pattern he plays all the time.I rather just listen to his open rhythm tunings these days and not his soloing. It was sad to watch his solo on TB from the HBO special.I know he has arthitis but he used his chuck berry angular pattern on the solo which was sad

who cares about the image its all about the music and being able to still play at a high level.Taylor's got the vibrato.Jagger and Wood look silly on stage still trying to look like their in their 20's. I saw Buddy Guy at the Birchmere in Alexandria last night and Buddy Guy played the blues from his heart and mixed it up with funk, rock and told the audience I never reherase and ju

IMO they can,t match sway, time waits, and winter and others without taylor, yeah they can do different arrangements to get by but it would not be the same . how can you play winter without Taylor's vibrato and feel just not the same.

FAMED GUITARIST IS STONE COLD When I heard that Mick Taylor was playing the Temple Bar in Santa Monica on Aug. 29, I was so ecstatic I put in a request for an interview more than a month before the date. I'm not alone among critics and fans in citing 1969-1972 as the greatest Rolling Stones era. And it's probably not coincidental that those are the years the band'

CREAM'S CROP Jack Bruce reminisces about his legendary rock band BY COREY LEVITAN POP MUSIC WRITER Q: I need to ask about another famous band you're connected to. Many say that Mick Taylor's decision to quit the Rolling Stones in 1974 to join the Jack Bruce Band was rock's second-worst decision after Decca Records turned down the Beatles in 1962. I don'

Its taylor's fluidity and vibrato thats so important thats god given and comes from his soul.yeah going up and down the fretboard is not difficult but taylor adds the extra notes or uses sustain and hammers.Listen to Winter and the sustain(ringing of notes) he gets its fantastic and beautiful. He comes out of bends and goes into sustain from the 4th fret to the 9th fret. His signature trad

I agree groove is important and thats how the current lineup gets by but Taylor's techinical brilliance of playing those melodies can,t be overlooked.Johns said that he got bored listening to all the british guitar gods but he praised Taylor saying he could listen to Taylor's playing all day.He said Winter was the best stones studio recording and Keith was not even on it.Thats power

And another point I guess Woody was so impressed by Taylor's solos that he copied Taylor's triple stops on CYHMK and also he copied Taylor's licks when he does LIV on slide(He can,t play Taylor's single note solo on LIV and gets by taking the easy way out only playing slide. So I guess Woody is influenced by Taylor's genius. Why cant woody come up with his own impro

Question Does Woody's solo stuff or Taylor's melodic passages of vibrato stay with you inside your soul ready to conjure up from time to time.Well for me Taylor's melodic passages he created with the stones and his solo work far surpass any 3 minute song Woody has wrote.Time Waits For No One is haunting and melodic,Taylor's melodic wonderment on winter and all is solos

IMO I thought Woody's solo on CYHMK was choppy and not fluid. He copied Taylor's triple stops and did not look confident and it looked like on the HBO show that he said to himself I got it when he started to move on stage when he played the octaves.

You can also argue that Jagger's best record since Some Girls is Wandering Spirit and Keith's best record is Talk Is Cheap and that the two did not write great rolling stones records since some girls.

Taylor a vegas act - now thats funny the stones did a vegas show on the licks tour for a private group of rich and famous people. So who is doing the Vegas act with all the glimmer and glitz. Sorry but Taylor can play live these days the stones are left with Jagger and Charlie to carry the load.

yeah and ronnie wood not having the balls to play a real live single note solo all these years wasted only making grimaces and faces on stage and never moving his fingers.yeah taylor is out of shape but what does that have to do with his guitar playing nothing he still has the magic and vibrato and thats all that matters.yeah go see the stones and all the glimmer, and backup singers and all

I am at a MT site and just here to give MT is due and credit he deserves. He will always be a stone and his contributions on those records are timeless and stand the test of time.Even jagger says in that rolling stone interview his contributions were huge and if you read between the lines and quotes about MT he admits that he collaborated with Taylor on Moonlight and Sway and says keith was no

I agree the stones wrote many good songs on Emotional Rescue,Dirty Work,B2B, Voodo Lounge,Steel Wheels but these are not great records.I am saying Taylor's 2 records 1979 and A Stones Throw IMO are better than those records.Listen to A Stones Throw his last record from 1998 its a great record vs the stones attempt B2B trying again to sound trendy and jagger's attempt to make the st

He really sounds great on CYHMK - he can,t hit the notes and is flat. Amazing that you can think that Taylor's playing on Spanish A Minor,Slow Blues, and Giddy Up is dabbling only what has Keith done the last 40 years except recyle riffs and ideas you cant be serious.

IMO the stones lost their heart and soul when taylor left and if you question Taylor's songwriting yeah its not prolific but he wrote two rockers Broken Hands and Twisted Sister which IMO is better than any rock song the glimmers have wrote since some girls. They can only write ballads no more rock and roll kick ass in your face rock and roll. His 2 solo records are better than Emotional Re
