They may move away from the 1970's and perhaps look at one of the 1990's payper view shows. Maybe something from 1981 such as Seattle or if they stick to the 70's then how about the Marquee show. Andy

I have been revisiting a lot of the pre-Beggars Banquet material recently. The official albums of course and a lot of the bootleg material such as early radio appearances (BBC, Saturday Club etc) and some of the live stuff such as Paris, Honolulu and Melbourne. Some real gems hear. Andy

QuoteSilver Dagger BTW way Palace, I just stumpled upon two incredible Free live recording on the internet - both from 1970, probably their peak year. They're from Croydon and Sunderland Locarno - and yes, they've been released across several albums but these are a compilation of near enough the original gigs in their running order. Yes i think that some of those live tracks appeared

I have bought quite a few bootleg LP's on ebay recently (Stones & Dylan) and been very happy with them all. There are some bargains out there. There is a seller in Japan that is very reliable (called "shakeitup baby" I think) and not particularly expensive. He has a nice 4 LP box set of 1975 LA Forum show listed the last time i looked. That would make a great present for your b

Well my opinion, for what it's worth, is that the song starts off okay with Joss and Damian but then goes downhill pretty quickly. What is the point of Mick on this. Can't really see why they need him in this band to be honest...and get rid of that suit mate. Andy

This is a very off topic request but I am hoping someone can help me. I need some very small parts for my CPI GTR 50 scooter. The bike is not fully supported here in the UK and the garage here have said that they can get parts from the main supplier in Austria (2-3 weeks). Their prices are very high and I think that they are ripping me off. Does anyone in Austria have a contact address, ema

It was all about being there and part of that great crowd. The setlist was a bonus but nobody really cared that the band were a bit sloppy at times. A bit like Dylan at the Isle of Wight in 1969 - what the hell are these songs he's playing?, he sounds funny - who gives a sh*t it's Dylan! andy

If you are buying new then the Pro-Ject series of turntables are excellent value. I have a Pro-Ject Genie III and am very happy with it. Innovative design as well. One option you could try if you work in an orgaisation such as a University or large company is to send out an all staff email asking if anyone has a quality turntable for sale. You will be suprised how many people have these things

Mick obviously having fun and trying to be part of a contemporary sound. Not my cup of tea really and wouldn't buy any of it based on what i've heard so far. I think it will have quite a broad appeal though. Andy

I really like the opener in Vancouver. It's a bit ragged at times but they do cover some interesting Exile tracks such as Ventilator Blues which would later be dropped. I suppose that the quality of the recording you listen to has a big influence on your choice. I will try to hear Knoxville and Indianapolis now. And as well.

Is anyone really strong enough this year to ride off the front in the mountain stages and blow the rest of the field apart. We used to see it with Armstrong or Contador or Pantani in years gone by but I am not sure if this year Contador, Evans, the Schlecks can actually do this. I would like to see Voeckler win the tour this year he has been great so far. I don't know what it is about Cad

I have been digging out music from quite a few 1970's German bands recently. Klaus Schulze is a new experience for me and some of his material is fantastic. A couple of fairly obscure bands that I heard last month are Broselmaschine (very folky) and Neuschwanstein - well worth checking out. If you subscribe to the e-music.com download site there is quite a bit of this 1970's psych,

I remember listening to this LP about a year ago. I think there is a long track on each side and from my memory I remember one side was pretty good and the other terrible. Interesting psych album but a minor league one. andy

From my home town of Hull the great Mick Ronson. Apart from that some lesser lights such as the Housemartins and a lot of folkies such as Michael Chapman, Rick Kemp (Steeleye Span) A few 60's crooners too. All of the Spiders From Mars were of course from Hull and I went to school with Woody Woodmansy's cousin. andy

This is why I prefer the LP format to CD. It takes a bit of effort to get the vinyl out , give it a wipe, cue it on the turntable. Then you can sit down, relax , look at the sleeve and listen to the LP all the way through. You even get a bit of exercise getting up to change the record over to side 2. I must admit that I only have vinyl copies of albums that I really love to listen to all the w

QuoteErik_Snow ...they just want everybody searching for "rolling stones tmoq" to see their auctions in the search results, that's the reason IOW; "yes it's a bootleg - but no it's not from the TMOQ label" I see, all about marketing then. andy

On eBay recently I see a lot of bootlegs advertised as "NOT TMOQ". What exactly are they trying to say. Is it "this is not a superb original Trade Mark Of Quality release" or "this is not an inferior TMQ re-issue". Just curious Andy

QuoteErik_Snow Avoid them. They are copied from CD sources. So you're buying digital audio on analog releases - it's real silly. Just get the CDs (or FLAC files) instead. Same goes for the "TMOQ" releases of 1972-1973 live recordings. I have some of them. It was not worth buying, of course - but I got them for a cheap price. Erik - which are the recent TMOQ 72-73 LP recordin

Never heard of Wayne Perkins back in 1976 when I was 18. To be honest at first I though that he was perhaps related to Carl Perkins! Andy
