How bizarre, to go to such lengths, knowing that one would have squat to deliver.

Quotedcba It's likely Mick rewrote the lyrics to give them a more surrealistic meaning but the lines "Well, I hope we're not too messianic Or a trifle too satanic We love to play the blues" sound like a Keef statement. That's so interesting - "we love to play the blues" could be either Glimmer, of course, but the rest of that triplet sounds 100% Jagger to m

Have they corrected the error about which Stone slept in the separate room at Edith Grove? In London it was said to be Keith, and that's not right - it was Brian. And it's not unimportant in the development of the relations within the band.

But but but the Jagger vocal I'm listening to has her instead of him, and her name was Jill. I would far rather hear him singing about Bill :E

Maybe His Majesty will come along to refresh/repost the missing photos, but there's the thread where it was definitively established that the triangular thingie that Keith had on his black Les Paul peghead in lots of 66-67 shots was an UNCLE badge.

It's very good of Jeremy to care! Thanks and praises to Deltics too for conveying the message. Phrasing like "and became founding members of the Rolling Stones" might soothe whoever needs soothing. Or not Frankotero, Brian has been recognized in his home town, with a bust that most people find ... well, never mind! But recognition it is

Well ... Mick is indeed way way too upfront but it's good to hear him sounding so relaxed in his voice, and without analyzing too much the overall sound is cool. I'll take it.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Listen again to the SAL version and tell me why it's bad. I adore ADTL - it's the decalogue in the scripture of Exile - say hallelujah time for real. But I can answer that question! What's wrong with the SAL version is the dreadful gimmicky audio that the director twisted into it. I bet it sounded utterly fantastic to everyone in the place at the tim

QuoteMacLaurens Pretty sure the Stones will do Like a Rolling Stone as a tribute to Bob Dylan. I bet they do something other than that — unless of course Bob joins them for it. Elijah Wald wrote a book called How the Beatles Destroyed Rock & Roll but the title is mainly a way to make fun of critics who say Whiteman destroyed jazz and such stuff. That's an interesting read, even if one disagrees with him. I'll try to find time to read this article someday ...
