right, sorry! embarrassing factual errors even as we speak: i meant Kris Needs's "Keith bio", of course. Nick Kent, Kris Needs - turn 'em upside down and they all look alike ... sorry! and thanks for the correction, insights, details and all.

i think there's an awful lot of confusion about this, but: ~ at least at some venues there are seats in the first four rows for around $97 - $160, but (obviously!) hardly any, and those are *not* what you get if you go for the "hot seats"; ~ not every $450 seat is a "hot seat"; a lot of pretty mediocre seats seem to be running $400 - $450; ~ some people are sp

smile: i love the compliment that Merry Clayton paid his splendid voice the first time she met him. she said: "why, i thought you were a man! but you're just a skinny little boy!" what *is* it about that skinny little English cat's voice? the sheer lungpower, the glorious raunchiness, the seemingly total lack of inhibition about pouring out all that hollering and groanin

They're absolute nonsense ah, so that was Nick Kent's doing, was it? and here i thought he was copying from poor old Victor. but i believe you, Gazza - Kent's "Keith

same here - it's hot stuff. those Keith & Ronnie backup vocals are such a joy - LoFL, and so is Mick singing both parts to LSTNT in Philadelphia because Keith was too busy. :E

i'm sorry Keith didn't highjack that cherrypicker, but i'm glad he played on his back! another thing Bockris got wrong is his enormously detailed account of Keith punching Ronnie during She's So Cold at Wembley in 82. Keith didn't punch anybody during She's So Cold at Wembley in 82. actually Bockris gets a bunch of stuff wrong - but then, they all do.

i can't get the freakin thing out of my head either - and the best part is that it's the guitar that just keeps comin back and comin back. yeah, the lyrics are maybe a little on the trivial side, but that doesn't really bother me - especially since it's such a great title/refrain for the ever-appropriate Stones to announce a new tour with. :E

22989. Re: Fans
LoFL - i don't even make $15,000 a year, and i'll be lucky to figure out how to afford even three shows somehow, and i am feeling so freakin blessed! it's the Rolling Stones!

aha! the site staff just now clarified this: "The early presale window afforded to members who joined before May 9th, is scheduled to continue as new shows are announced and added to TicketMaster.com." but i'm sure they'll allocate seats for both pre-sales and pre-presales - it's not hard to do, and they don't seem to be *trying* to disappoint people.

>> So, looks like the first 5 rows are fan club etc << could you elucidate a little, please & thank you, TE? the "hot seats" will be rows 5 - 15, but you got 2nd row by using a fan-club passcode and bypassing the "hot seats" option?

... i think it's hard for them to offer multi-show packages when the idea on this tour is to spread the different-size shows over different cities. i bet there'll be two or three shows in some locations, though, and that there'll be packages for those, and/or in normal-size countries (smile!) where the distances between venues don't make it impractical. ~*COURAGE!*~ it&

you get some "special merchandise" and a "collectible laminate" along with the ticket, but i don't see any details of what that is. some people have reported getting up-front seats in the pre-sale without going for the "hot seats" option but it would be great to hear more.

a friend just posted this on shidoobee/rs.com: "Just got a return call from CNN in NY ... I still don't know a thing about live coverage, but I was just notified that it will be recorded, edited and aired tomorrow evening at 7pm EST on CNN's Headline News'/ Showbiz Tonight. She could not say how much of it would be aired, but felt certain that the performance would be a p

i don't have any real expectations for better access because of being a "pre-existing member", but ... well, i guess we'll find out shortly. meanwhile, thanks for posting that information, Klaus - rs.com's got technical difficulties up the wazoo right now, and if it weren't for you, i don't know when the existing members would've heard about this "sp

a knight in armor in a desert would be *toast*. i remember the shock of hearing this when it came out too. but yeah: when i finally got my faculties back i decided it must be meant as a form of humor. deeply offensive humor, mind you - where the hell are the guitars?! but then ... what fun is it being the Rolling Stones if you aren't offending anybody? i forgave them.

smile: yeah that Got Live train wreck does it for me too. *almost* on the subject of the original question, here's bit about the recording of HYSYMB SITS from Andrew Oldham's 2Stoned: I the pleasure, at RCA in Hollywood, of joining Mick and Keith as the 'singing guitars' needed to choral the start-me-up to HYSYMB SITS. Brian and Bill had flown back to England ... Char

for what it's worth: the membership offer that rs.com sent out last year said that the $100 "platinum" membership would include (and i quote) "special access to tickets (up to four tickets to any one show) should the band announce shows." of course, "special" can mean a lot of things. recently it's sounding like it might mean current members will get a
