Thank God that Contact Music can stay current with these things. We would be lost without them.

"Plundered My Soul" and "Following the River" were both singles and, to judge by the vocals, were new songs as far as most people were concerned. Since the band isn't in the studio working on a new album now and since it's even less likely Dressman would be given an exclusive Rolling Stones single cut specially for Dressman in 2011, I suspect a single to promote SOME

Pretty sure it would be licensing rights for use in commercials only.

The brand new song in the Autumn could refer to the SOME GIRLS Deluxe Edition. Perhaps "Scarlet" will be tossed onto that package. It was being worked on as late as BLACK AND BLUE so it could be considered a holdover. Particularly since Don Was keeps referring to it as "a hit then, a hit now."

I like it a lot as well. Look forward to owning it officially.

Thing is we don't know if this is really Keith's perspective. Unless the roadie is Pierre, I wouldn't be too inclined to trust it isn't just a guy speculating based on what he's heard rather than what he knows to be fact.

The only problem with all this is Mick isn't doing a solo album. The studio time he's logged recently in LA with Dave Stewart is just a continuation of the Nokia project they've been working on and off on since 2008 which allegedly is scheduled to debut next year. Whether or not the Stones have a future, Mick and Dave Stewart working together is not the obstacle. This is a side pro

If Keith is physically or mentally impaired to the level specultated, I suspect those suggesting Mick Taylor as the perfect replacement or supplemental guitarist are being unrealistic. There would likely be insurance risks or concerns with Mick Taylor's health as well and, apart from diehard fans, the general public (the people that buy concert seats, but never bother to buy the album) would

Pretty sure Keith being pissed off at Mick at MSG 2003 B-stage is because he thinks Mick's amp is up too loud when he tries the first chords of "When the Whip Comes Down." That volume issue has been a recurring sore point between them ever since Keith heard Mick's rhythm guitar on the playback to "Sway" in 1970. I don't think Mick ever particularly cares if

To 71Tele, I do not regret the "American Pie" thread (which was supposed to be a "Vincent" thread). It is my version of showing the blade. When things get stirred up in any thread, there is no better remedy than bringing up Don McLean plus it eggs StonesTod on to say something funny. It's like offering (forgive me) pie to people that are arguing. Everyone stops to eat it.

Be fair, Keith caught the similarity between "Anybody Seen My Baby?" and "Constant Craving" in time to change it so they didn't have to give royalties to k. d. Lang and Ben Mink. Oh wait...

The real question is whether or not Don McLean is a Keith-hater based on the lyrics of "American Pie." Let's not lose our focus, people.

The Kinks' "Catch Me Now I'm Falling" steals the "Jumpin' Jack Flash" riff "Lookin' Tired" an AFTERMATH outtake is a rewrite of "32-20 Blues" "Deep Love" a DIRTY WORK outtake pinches the riff from "Smoke on the Water" I find the riff to "Dangerous Beauty" a bit similar to "Cocaine" Ther

The thing is the Stones saturated the market with live albums from 1991 to 2008. There are five albums - the last two are double discs. The sales don't exactly make a compelling argument that more live albums are in demand. I don't see the idea of a live box set anthology (something that was a real possibility that Virgin discussed with the band about 10 years ago) would be a huge selle

Well it's certainly an improvement over paying the PR guy to issue a statement that there are no plans to tour every January. The next Stones album and tour was becoming as reliable as Keith promising another solo album and Winos tour.

When your current recording contract is for back catalog only and the closest thing to new material is your willingness to complete a limited number of unfinished songs to help sell the reissues, there's no surprise that the consensus is you're at least winding down if not done entirely.

The tree was located on a grassy knoll (beneath the snow, that is). Coincidence? Possibly. Others claim Sonny mistook the pine tree for Cher in one of her freaky Gene Simmons outfits. That's certainly plausible. Either way his death was in the public domain and that was fitting.

SCL, work is for douche bags, but I do believe Neil Young was responsible for shooting down Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane in retaliation for "Sweet Home Alabama."
