Yeah, that's Bob's version of Tom Waits' "Downtown Train" - some rumblings that Bob recorded it before Rod Stewart and the Mod "stole" it.

"C'est La Vie" AKA "You Never Can Tell" by the great one, Chuck Berry. thumbs up

A few gripers over there about setlist - not limited to IORR! thumbs down. 3rd tour in a row he's opened with "Roll Me Away", etc.

Yeah he could change the opener at least. But it looks like a pretty good setlist to me. Without comparing it to the last tour. But it's not like he tours a whole hell of a lot anyway lately. So those songs are still cool to hear.

Yeah, charmed, kinda like the Stones - I'm just glad to see him again.

Sure, I'd love to write the setlist, but who wouldn't?

Glad to see 5 from Live Bullet/Beautiful Loser days.

Doesn't look like he's going to do any west coast dates. That sucks.

I have never seen Bob Seger in concert, might have to check him out in Atlanta. I'm still waiting on a Seger box set to come out.

Nutbush City Limits in the middle of set. Great!
I hope Let It Rock will be back soon.

He will do so in the fall, after the new album, if this tour works out.

Enjoy the show, my transplanted Michigan friend. Glad you're seeing Bob again after all these years.

Hope he comes to Vancouver. Saw him in 83, 86 and 96. Wish Fire Lake was in the setlist. How long before someone comments there's too many "warhorses"?

Are they playing Old Time Rock and Roll 2 or 3 keys lower than normal?

I guess you'd have to be at a Bob Seger website to see those comments... I noticed the same thing... If my count is right, he played 15 of 29 songs that were released on his two live albums from the 70s & 80s. (Note: Chuck's Let It Rock was on both live albums which is why I counted 29 songs instead of 30 in case anyone notices).

Personally, I don't mind warhorses by either Bob or The Stones... When the warhorses are THAT good... PLAY ON!

My only regret is that I don't have the disposable cash to see Bob this time out. I've seen him twice before and loved both shows. I don't know if I've ever seen an artist seem happier on stage than Boob seemed at both shows. (Mick Fleetwood w/ Fleetwodd Mac a few years ago came close) Keith's "Happy to be anywhere" line pales in the shadows compared to the joy that shines from Bob's eyes & non-stop smile I witnessed.

Hopefully all who go will enjoy the show at least a little bit on behalf of those of us who can't be there with you!

Peace,
Mr DJA

Looks very similar to the setlist from the last tour, with Nutbush added (which would be great!).

3 tours in a row now opening with Roll Me Away which is an awesome song.

The only change in the second show in Saginaw was the debut of Shining Brightly.

Just think - he tours every 3000 new moons and plays the basic same set list. Meanwhile Stones fans shell out way too much money for the same basic set list every 30 new moons and wonder why they can't do something different.

If Bob toured every year or every other year he'd still be doing the same songs.

So...how does that work? A lot of artists do that. A few don't. Bob is a 1970s act playing in the second decade of the Twenty Hundreds, which started this year, to people that don't know anything past 1979 or whatever year his last big hit was.

How does that matter? It doesn't. They're going to hear those 1970s songs.

The Stones have released several albums since the 1970s starting with Tattoo You and play less and less of them each tour. Nothing's changed really.

So who is more vital as a touring act? Bob Seger is, of course - he hasn't shoved the same shit down people's throats year after year.

For all the setlist whiners. What specifically would you want to her that he's not already playing? For my money other than Shame on the Moon, which is rarely played to begin with. I can't think of too many other songs I'd want to hear. Plus, this is likely just a first leg. He still has a new album to finish and many major markets not included on this leg. Meanwhile, here's the vid for Shining Brightly.

Gotta give him credit for ticket prices, I believe all are $65. Front to back. None of this "$500 golden circle" b.s. and 'tickets as low as $25' which may consist of 10 tickets with limited view behind the stage.

charmed, IMHO, "The Fire Inside" and "Brave Strangers" would be nice.

Lots of Bob's fans are screaming for "Heavy Music".

I just enjoy what's being played at the show - Stones, Seger, Bruce, etc.

Of course, Bruce really DOES mix it up.

Yeah I read some of that board. Heavy Music would be nice. He's done Brave Strangers before hasn't he? Not familiar with The Fire Inside........Believe it or not even Springsteen fans whine about setlists. It's universal.eye rolling smiley

The Fire Inside is the title cut to an early to mid-90's album which features great covers of Tom Waits' "Blind Love" and "New Coat Of Paint", both fantastic songs. Check these 3 songs out.

He did "Brave Strangers" on both the 78 and 80 tours, I think.

plus Let It Rock, 2+2, Wildfire, Back In 72, Rosalie, UMC, You'll Accompany Me, Till It Shines, Feel Like A Number, Shame On The Moon, Mary Lou, Like A Rock, Face The Promise, Get Out Of Denver....

The hits go without saying but what's irksome is a lot of the second tier stuff in the current show was played in 2006 and 1986 for that matter. Nutbush, Betty Lou, Tryin' To Live My Life, Horizontal Bop could all have been dropped and replaced with songs from my wish-list above. Not only is playing the same set list as 2006 but everything is in the same spot. Kind of like going to the damned Who in recent years
