Speaking of U2, check out the current "issue" of the "Onion"; it's an online 'news' magazine. It's sort of an article about the other guys in U2 feel about Bono trying to save the world.

Rolling Stone magazine did an article about the '75 tour, with photos by Annie Liebowitz. Sorry, I don't know the issue number. You might try eBay, used record shops, etc. It turns up from time to time in those places. You might try"googleing" old Memphis newspaper articles also.

Memphis '75 was an all day deal - J. Geils, Charlie Daniels, and more. The Stones were 2 hours late comin' on - 95 degrees in Memphis on July 4. Cconcessions ran out of ice and drinks. It was great.

They wanted elephants on stage, but the stage would not support the weight - wild show, was my 2nd Stones show - hotter than blazes.

You'd think Detroit would have raised a ruckus about this long ago instead of waiting after the official announcement. It's not exactly been a big secret.

"One Hit to the Body" would be fun.... I just hope they actually play whatever they do, even if they screw up, and not lip sync.

Some of the Stones's 'country' songs certainly sound more authentic than the drivel that's touted as country these days. I'd love it if they performed this stuff at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. This would be a great place for them to do a 'small' show. The Ryman has some of the best acoustics you could want. One of Willie's shows with Keith was reco

A local TV station in Nashville played a video compilation of Katrina events as Gimme Shelter was playing in background; didn't catch it all, but I believe it is a tie-in to requests for aid.

Memphis TN, July 4th 1975; my 2nd Stones concert. Had to go, it was gonna be their last tour 95 degrees, 90 something percent humidity. Liberty stadium was out of ice by late afternoon. Gates opened at 11, saw Charlie Daniels, J. Geils Band, Furry Lewis. The Stones came on at 8 . But after they came on I didn't care about the heat or the sunburn. The Stones were right there playing, and I l
