My guess is three songs in this order:

Start Me Up
Rain Fall Down
Jumping Jack Flash

Other predictions?

Forget Rain Fell Down

Brown Sugar will be in there somewhere

Otherwise, youre probably spot on. Start Me Up is a cert. They'll probably censor it again, too

Won't "Rough Justice" have to be in there, given the tie-in with the NFL's "Monday Night Football" promos?

Start Me Up
Rough Justice
Brown Sugar

I think the "put your lips to my hips, baby" may make the network nervous. Gimme Shelter would be a winner for this venue, though Lisa Fisher would have to avoid a "wardrobe malfunction."

send the Stones to the nearest sporting goods store to purchase some balls...then come out and play @#$%& blues 3x in a row

using that yardstick, maybe they'll play Streets of Love as there are bound to be a few Days Of Our Lives fans watching....

I think they will play definetly what has been played on monday night football several times..Start me Up and Rough Justice. Then a couple from what you guys are saying.

What do you guys think this guy who is producing will do? Or the Stones? I think it will be an ideal Stones concert. Flames when the come out and fireworks when they end. I mean they did alot during U2 with all those names and stuff. I sure hope they dont have those fake fans around the stage fake cheering when all they really want to do is get on TV. Then need to get real fans like us here. Anyhow just wanted to see your thoughts. I am kinda excited for these 15 mintues. Tom

Well, no.

The "yardstick" of which you write would indicate that the Stones would play "Streets"--if they were appearing on "Days Of Our Lives."

On the other hand, the Super Bowl is an NFL event and since "Rough Justice" has been heard weekly during the NFL's premier show...well...

Our former radicals will play it very conservately. Satisfaction will probably be the closer. Maybe Britany can lip sync it (and me)!

Isn't Brown Sugar a bit raw for this pretty staid event?

Lyrics about slaveships bound for cotton fields, scarred old slavers, tent show queens and such?

Christ, martingo....you may have a point

Censorship being what it is these days and in the wake of Janet's "flashing tit" fiasco, we may be left with very few songs that can be deemed appropriate for a family audience at this event

It could very well end up being a medley of Anyway You Look At It,
As Tears Go By and just to keep it REALLY safe, 2120 South Michigan Avenue as it contains no words at all thereby offending no-one.

Like I said on another post, they are going to have VERY limited time...

My bet is a 5 song medley of a verse and chorus from each song totaling about 8-10 minutes max.

Because it will be a medley, they will completely srew it up and regret ever doing the Superbowl because it will have "ZERO" effect on sales and will only have negative impact on ticket sales in countries they are planning to play.

If anybody on this board actually thinks the Stones are going to do a full three songs during a Superbowl half time show...you got to be dreaming.

OHhh Pecman. I will bet that they will play 3 songs. 3 full songs. I will bet any amount. That is a fact.

Sweet Neo Con
Highwire
Star, Star

start me up and brown sugar (live 1969 version) are common during football games. RJ and ONNYA are not happening because of lyrical content. Maybe DTF or IWTL.

Stonestom,

If I remember correctly, didn't Paul McCartney do a medley of about 5 songs?

I know I wasn't paying too much attention to him last year because he bores me top tears...but if he did a full Hey Jude or Let It Be..that would take up the whole alotted time.

Re: 3 Full Songs...I don't think they know how to get out of Jumpin Jack Flash, Satisfaction, BS, IORR in 3-4 minutes...That's also a thorn in my side with them live...I don't need to hear a 7 minute version of JJF or 8 minutes of Satisfaction...keep it to 4 minutes of each Warhorse and give us another 3-4 tunes a show.

The Super Bowl Set List:

1-C***sucker Blues
2-Little T&A
3-Sister Morphine

I'll bet I'm right on the money here.

I'm guessing they'll do more than 3 songs. McCartney did like 4 last year right? U2 only did 3 but that's b/c they had a long expanded song thing.
I'll go with...

Start Me Up
Rough Justice
(i have no idea, but something here, hopefully not HTW)
Brown Sugar

Yea Pecman you do make a point. I would guess they would rehearse shorter versions. But you make a good point. I think U2 did about 3 or 4 and you said 5 for Mcartney.

I'm Looking for Little t&A, Short and curlies and a rousing version of Star Star with the audience going bonkers while the 1975 tour blow up "member" comes out of mothballs to make a-rousing appearance!

Re: Super Bowl Set List
Date: December 1, 2005 06:26

I've never heard the 1969 live version of Brown Sugar(Altamont)at a football game.I predict Start Me Up/You Got Me Rocking or ABB cut/Satisfaction.I would prefer Satisfaction/It Won't Take Long or We Don't Wanna Go Home/Soul Survivor/Jumping Jack Flash.Winning Ugly might fit the event but,it has no real chance.

"One Hit to the Body" would be fun....

I just hope they actually play whatever they do, even if they screw up, and not lip sync.

Re: Super Bowl Set List

Well I mean come on we know Mick doesnt lip sync now that is a fact. My shit dude... I am thinking they really are going to do Start Me Up, You Got Me Rocking, Rough Justice, Satisfaction. That would be killer suck. But hey when all the millions are sitting there seeing that they will be amazed so we will just have to wait for another night to hear what we want. Tom
