I don't get Darryl bashing Both Mick and Keith decided that he was good enough to play for them. Do these fans think that Doug Wimbish would have been a better option if he had not turned down the offer? I should remember that Mick T was also considered by somes as not fitting the Rolling Stones spirit.

Note : The Rolling Stones disbanded after Dirty Works and went solo ventures before the taste of success made Sir Mick and Rebel Keith bury the hatchet. So The Kinks (1964-1996) are beating the Stones in uniterrupted logevity.

Quotefrankotero ds1984, you missed Chaos And Creation. Probably his best work since Band On The Run in my opinion. Excluded from my list as Chaos And Creation was released at the same time as A Bigger Bang.

QuoteDoxa We need to also remember that the curtain set by 'Beatles Directive' - that of ANY recording reaching 70 years will be Public Domain - is getting closer and closer... Compared to that I think some non-officially released stuff is not really such a big deal... - Doxa Start january 1st 2034. Which artists will be still alive to be concerned ?

Steel Wheel was at a time when the Rolling Stones were active in recording new music. The Rolling Stones creating active years almost ended with A Bigger Bang. Since that a blues cover album and a few singles went before Hackney Diamonds, otherwise they went a cashing machine on past material exploitation. So this statistic doesn't really moves me.

The Rolling Stones holding their own rights since 1971 (Promo-Group) while Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan sold recently their rights to Sony Music. QuoteIrix Quoteslewan EU law rules that copyright expires 50 years after a recording was made if a recording has not been commerically used. The German copyright law - - which complies to the 2011/77 EU directive - says in § 85 (3): "The right expires 70 years after the publication of the phonogram. If the phonogram has not been published within 50 years of its production, but h

QuoteGazza I'm not 100% sure why the Stones haven't gone for the copyright protection thing. Maybe they're not interested in because their important stuff is already protected by the new 70-years

QuoteMrForeverMusicFan I think Ray Davies is playing Mark Knopfler's 1937 14-fret National Style "O" Resonator featured on the cover of Brothers In Arms in the video for 'Do It Again'. Even though 'Do It Again' was released before Brothers In Arms, I have to wonder if that's Mark's guitar. Yet Mark first used the guitar on 'Romeo and Juliet

Pop culture is not made to last but to the present time. The Rolling Stones ceased to be relevant the day they published a new album and nobody cared about. I don't think that day has came yet. But right The Rolling Stones have not produced anything that big since Start me Up. After that I don't see any single being unquestionably part of a best of...

Roger Waters is probably one of the luckiest touring artist of the last two decades. The 80's saw him flopping when touring in support of his first two solo efforts after he left PF. But from 1999 onward coming back on the road has been really successful for him - The Wall solo tour even being on top of gross of the year.
