Is this stuff was good, Lennon himself would have not kept it unreleased.

I though that John had changed his name to John Ono Lennon. I wasn't aware he kept the Winston part.

Roger Waters is using pre recorded tapes of his VOICE. And I don't speak about his virtual duet on Mother. That is a fact. He sings over is own tape but what you actually ear in the venue is mostly the pre recorded tape. Just make a test : listen Roger singing ABITW part 3 in Berlin 1990 - real voice. Then listen to the same song on the 2014 release of The Wall Live.

QuoteRisingStone Quotepaulywaul F f f f f furking long time to wait, nearly a full year !! Indeed. I have sometimes toyed with an idea of starting a new thread, “why are concert tickets released so long before show dates nowadays?” or something to that effect. When I was young, they were on sale a couple of months prior to the gigs, which was a handy enough waiting time to keep my expectation a

The strange thing is that she performed many times with Mick but guested only one time with the full band, in 1981.

It was a wonderful time. Once seeing my rock stars at the top I have difficulties to enjoy their shows when witnessing them going down. I feel now myself like a man of the past. Glad to have attended most of those I wanted to ear live. Some big regrets to the few I missed, on the top on my list being Mitch Ryder and the late Tom Petty.

QuoteStoneage In a way they have had their future behind them ever since the comeback in 1989. Since then they have been a band more of the past than the future. Their music really mattered in the late sixties and the seventies - it hasn't since. Whatever they do now is not a hanging matter anymore. Except for the hard core fans maybe... I mostly agree with that as their last big hit w

QuoteTheflyingDutchman QuoteWorriedAboutYou The important thing is knowing when to stop. Hi-fi can be an expensive and bottomless rabbit hole. Correct. I'm a "victim" as well, classical music in particular. Music should have back to front depth coming from the speakers, no treble, midrange or bass needed to adjust the sound. Once you get lost in that, the sky is the limit. I kn

Why do you need RS song for testing a system? Always take the music you like and you are familiar with because this is what you will listen on your system. If you want an "audiophile" approach, also take classical : symphonic recordings, organ, piano, all sort of accoustic recordings. Last but not least, the main factor for music reproduction is the room where it is played. It

Quotefrankotero Hmm, I’m not sure why people believe The Beatles are over hyped. To my knowledge they’ve never displayed or said they’re above anyone else. Actually I think they’ve tried to down play the whole thing individually. On the other hand fans can be accused of having high praise for them, but we could say the same about us here. Myself included anyway I find the whole competition borin

BR is great to get uncompressed audio as it is a mandatory feature. Not DVD. And this is not just a 4/3 upscale of standard SD resolution, they are featuring split screen. video: A missed opportunity at these orchestral shows was to get a real piano. Nonetheless the orchestral show worked great.SOYL was mindblowing.

Too bad the BR format is only available on the too costly boxset for me. If you take the standalone versions of the individual concerts you get only DVD instead. I will never understand their (dirty) marketing strategy. Sorry I will pass on it.

QuoteCaptainCorella Quoteds1984 The Rooftop Concert still sounds as an oddity to my ears. Can you explain that? To my ears it sounds like 4 very experienced players who genuinely enjoy playing live together doing it well and producing some good songs. I've watched it several times and I reckon I see mutual enjoyment and affection in what's going on on that rooftop. I have not re

Hum, as the 1977 release was lawfully done, then it should be considered that the tape was relased in 1977 and thus are still under copyright ?

QuoteDoxa Ok, ds1984, thanks for correction (my Beatlelogist credidentials are pretty limited). I wonder if already having a contract had a role. Probably yes. - Doxa Unless exception yes. When you sign a recording contract with a record producer you own him the "exclusivity" for recording and release records. Among the exception to the exclusivity is recording for broadcast.

QuoteDoxa Quoteds1984 I did not intend that a taper could sue Pink Floyd for using his tape. That was not in my scope. In short the performer owns the ***ownership*** rights on illegal recording. My question was does an illegal recording enters the public domain after 50 years of its fixation? I mean if I kept uncirculated for 50 years an illegal tape recording I made can I squeez

QuoteIrix Quoteds1984 "The rights of phonogram producers last for 50 years [...] after its creation if it had never been communicated to the public" It's the rights of the phonogram producers - but in copyright there're also the rights of authors (composition/lyrics) and performers (sound recording). Different terms & conditions, hence just my link to the EU law.
