QuoteIrix Quoteds1984 From that perspective I guess that any unpublished recording made in 1972 will enter the public domain in 2023. Maybe when you apply the UK copyright. But the EU has their own copyright - - with own 70 & 50 years rules. Copyright lengths in other countries of the world: Wikipedia. It would be better to give precise text not just link. Quoteretired_dog Quoteds1984 The reason why ABCKO had to use the copyright extension and why the Rolling Stones just do not need to do so : If a sound recording, after the fiftieth anniversary of its first publication, is not being made available in sufficient quantity, both in physical format and online (i.e. to meet the demand from consumers) then, under the legislation, any musician who ha

QuoteRicky Why no more unreleased songs released this way by the end of the year? Because by 1972 the contract with ABKCO was over.

If there is a name I associate with Mark Fisher this is first and foremost Pink Floyd performing The Wall Live in 1980. That said the Steel Wheel stage was impressive

QuoteMrTurner Great to hear the extended version. It did surprise me that they released it with an abrupt end and no fade-out. Presumably the 'full' recording no longer exists. Isn't it the way the jam actually ends ? Great to have no fade out and get this quite harsh ending. I would have hoped the tape would be running a few more seconds but I guess they stopped it rolling

QuoteRisingStone Postponed Italian and Swiss dates (9-14 October) finished. Bologna first and second nights: 16 songs played Milan: 15 songs played Zurich: 14 songs played …another incredible shrinking setlists. Is that irony? To me it just looks like being the usual thing by current Clapton's standard. He's in his 70's and not in good shape so I would focus on hi

QuoteCaptainCorella QuoteHairball QuoteCaptainCorella New promo video for "Taxman" (part of promo for new version of 'Revolver' that's coming out next month). Nice sound and visuals. From the video description: "The Beatles’ 1966 album Revolver changed everything. Spinning popular music off its axis and ushering in a vibrant new era of experimental, av

QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteAntoineParis QuoteVoodooLounge13 I would really love for Miami 2019 to get an official release. There's a pro-shot boot available, so the content is there. If and when they do release another album, I think this would be a fitting inclusion for a Ward Super Deluxe release of it, with the CD/BluRay of Charlie's last show a

Love me do is both a minor song and a minor hit. The real success for The Beatles is 1963.

QuoteHansel1976 Nothing beats the sounds of the Fender guitars and amplifier's on the opening number during the live shows.Added guitar solo on Satisfaction makes for a satisfying experience. It is the opposite for me. Keith playing the LP on it during the WL tour was SO awesome. And I can't believe Bridges to Babylon is already that old. In my calendar I feel like being just 10 y

I do not "shit" on Ringo So I wasn't clear enough that he was the right man at the right place at the right time ? Ringo got the job because he was the best available drummer that fitted the band. And what risk did he take? He was in with a band that just got a recording contract. Right time, right place to go. They did not need a virtuoso, they just needed a good enough drummer. No single Beatle is a virtuoso but at least two are geniuses.

The problem is not the mix but the mastering. The only way to ensure you have the same mastering is to perform the down to 16/44.1 or 16/48 Khz from the HiRes source. And then perform an ABX. Hi Res Sound "PLAYBACK" compared to standard CD quality only allow to get ultra frequencies that are out of audible range and to feature louder theorical capability (also known as dynamic). But, again for PLAYBACK, HiRes down to CD quality will sound the same unless you are able to play at full volume something that is encoded with a range over 96 dB - personaly I do not know any re

Strange story. I don't see Slash begging to play. So I have serious doubt that this happened exactly as reported.

It is so hard for a little celebtity to be treated like a usual Joe? Answer from the Rolling Stones frontman could have been : "Hi, I'm Mick Jagger and I would like to enjoy my dinner in private". And to be honest I know who "Fonzie" is\was but I don't remember having associated the name Henry Winkler with the name of the caracter. And to last, everyt

I still have difficulties on Roger's approach over his music production. I mean he could record way better albums than he does if a real musical director other than a "yes" man was in. Animals and The Wall without the others would have been disasters. The Final Cut has been the fist one.
