QuoteTaylor1 I find it hard to believe that Taylor is not playing on WOAF in some capacity. Bass? There is no song from the Goats Head Soup sessions he is not playing on Interestingly on outtakes of WOAF, I can hear an acoustic guitar being played in the background but can not hear it on the official release unless it is buried in the mix. Perhaps that was Taylor?

QuoteGazza Quotecrholmstrom I think there was plenty of good reason that the outtakes weren't released on the record. They were never even worked on or considered for Tattoo You to begin with. I took a picture at Exhibitionism of a log book from October 1980 of songs compiled to be further worked on. It included as listed: Mobile Master Reel #1 Biscuit Blues Black Limousine #1 E

Giving this 40th Anniversary release a 10/10. The bonus material is all wonderfully balanced, just like the original Tattoo You. I wasn't crazy about the re-working of the reggae version of Start Me Up, but it has quite grown on me. Mick has written and recorded great new lyrics/vocals for these old tracks. Still need to listen to the Wembley concert too but the new remaster of Tattoo You so

Quoteschwonek I mean: they pretty much had "Start Me Up" down in 1975. Imagine them playing it as a new song on the 1976 tour and then it ended up on Love You Live. I thought it'd been proven that SMU was written during the sessions for Some Girls?

QuoteDandelionPowderman Drift Away had the old vocals? The two songs with their original vocals are Living In The Heart Of Love and Drift Away. Everything else has new vocals.

Is it just me or does the "Start Me Up" early version sound like a new recording? The vocals sound completely new.

Some interesting notes about the Lost & Found tracks in this article: The outtakes of outtakes aren’t as dubious as you’d think. Given that Tattoo You was culled from sessions dating back to 1972-73, nearly a decade before its release, you’d think the remnants would truly be the dregs: tracks so lame the band passed on them twice? Sure enough, some of the cuts on Lost & Found: R

QuoteIrix Quoteironbelly QuoteLynd8 Wow -45 page thread.... Among these 45 pages, can someone let me know if there is a definitive list (well, maybe as definitive as we can get?) of where each track is from? And by Martin Elliott (Stones Sessions) on Twitter/Facebook: , , , I know most people say "Every Time I Break Her Heart" is from 1977-78 b/c it sounds like so

QuoteMaindefender (Other originals "It's a Lie" and "Come to the Ball" also crackle with the bluesy stomp recovered during the Some Girls era.) Pretty lame review, we'll do a much much better job..... So is the article saying "Come to the Ball" is from the Some Girls era?

My guessing is that, other than Trouble's A Comin, there'll be new vocals on Fiji Jim, Shame Shame Shame, It's A Lie, Come to The Ball (whatever song that was originally) and Fast Talking Slow Walking.

Thought I'd revive this thread now that the song will be on the Tattoo You re-issue, most likely with new vocals. Definitely feel like this song is an IORR outtake and it's listed on Nico's site as such.

QuoteBlueTurns2Grey QuoteJordyLicks96 Would anybody be able to re-post "Can You Hear The Music?" THANK YOU!! The version you are looking for (Track 8, CD1 from DAC 208) is the official released version of "Can You Hear The Music? - Glyn Johns 1973 Mix" from GHS-Deluxe (Jp Bonus Track). So it can't be posted here. Maybe you still have it from GHS. Oh okay that make

Does anybody know who plays the other guitar on Built That Way? The main riff is obviously Keith but I for the life of me can't figure out who the second guitar is. Possibly Wayne Perkins?

Looking for a version of Baby You're Too Much from the Dirty Work sessions with Bobby Keys on sax. Nico's site lists a version of it but can't seem to find it anywhere. Love the song and would love to hear it with the sax on it. THANKS!!

Quotestonesmuziekfan Strange !? Why not kill instandly, so hang on. That's what I thought as well!! They said if I wanted to try to counter it with an argument about why my videos deserved to stay up but they hit me with about 5-6 copyright strikes at once. Mostly a lose, lose battle unfortunately.

I definitely think drugs had a lot to do with it. I also think they were getting a bit above over their head as far as popularity was concerned. By that point, they weren't bringing anything new to the table anymore. I think the term 'aging rock stars' was the term I read. Other acts were beating them out. Punk and disco were taking over.

Willie Weeks actually didn't overdub his bass part until they were mixing the album. I believe this is Ronnie on bass here. 4th - 6th December 1973: MICK JAGGER & RON WOOD. Richmond, England, The Wick, RW’s homestudio. Sound engineer: George Chkiantz. - It’s Only Rock’n Roll I (MJ/KR) -demo version Line-up: MJ (voc, gtr)/RW
