I'm not a casual Stones fan and love the song. On the lyrical side, it's nothing special but at least it has some meaning behind it as supposed to Start Me Up which is isn't anything special at all.

Hands down in my top 10 favorite Stones songs. My favorite latter day rocker for sure. Haven't gotten to see them play it live yet but hope so one day. I love the main riff Keith plays on here. Anybody have a favorite live version? I personally love the version from Rio de Janeiro in 2006. Absolutely rocking!!

QuoteWorriedAboutYou You Got Me Rockin' their very worst song on record. I never understood why YGMR has gotten so much hate on this forum. I'd never shun someone for their dislike of a song but to call it their worst song on record? That's just not true at all.

STEEL WHEELS felt like a comeback. A band that was nearing the end in the mid-80's returned with an album and tour that felt more or less like a reunion of sorts. If anything, VOODOO LOUNGE was more of Stones by the numbers album. With that album they went back to their roots where SW, as MJ said at the time was The Rolling Stones in 1989. SW has a few clunkers, as does VL and pretty much ev

I think in many ways as much as the Beatles and Stones were friends, they inspired each other, and even envied each other. They both had different rises to fame during the British Invasion. I'm sure John and Paul envied the Stones for being the bad boys as the Beatles were the nice boys who were loved by teens and parents alike. I think the Stones envied the Beatles in a way until they reall

Yup the whole album was remixed by Giles Martin. Mick's ad libs during the outro are exactly the same as the original album, except this remix brought the vocals more upfront. The same with "Coming Down Again" as in there are more background vocals throughout the song which was edited out on the original album mix.

I think there are two extended versions. The one that was leaked to the radio station sounds like it has double-tracked vocals, electronic drums and the guitars are very loud in the mix. The other one is basically the same with double-tracked vocals but doesn't seem to contain the electronic drums and the guitars are lower in the mix. The extended version is wonderful and real

QuoteLeonidP QuoteJordyLicks96 My dad had been buying Stones bootlegs for decades starting in the 80's. He would go to record shops in the village in NYC... My first was in a "head" shop I heard about in New Hope PA, probably in 1980. I got Brussels Affair and a 10" of C*cksucer Blues / Andrew's Blues! I still have them. Not long after I heard about the underground s

Absolutely not. That's not their style. AC/DC did one sort of on 'The Razors Edge' with Mistress For Christmas and it's just the worst thing they've ever done.

I've watched this video a couple times now and I laugh just as hard each time. They're so nonchalant about the screwups. Quite possibly the only band to ever get away with doing things like this a lot. My favorite on here is the absolute disaster to the intro of Satisfaction from the first gig in Philly. Sounds like a drunk Jumpin' Jack Flash. Every time I play this to my dad we bo

POWER UP is a very good album with the return of AC/DC. The standout tracks for me are, Shot In the Dark, Through The Mists Of Time, Kick You When You're Down, and Code Red. The latter would fit perfectly on BACK IN BLACK with Johnson's freestyle vocals which seem like a callback to the title track from 1980. Pure rock 'n roll from start to finish. Pure AC/DC. I'm not too craz

Sway for me. Everything about that song is euphoric. I'd also say the Sympathy from GET YER YA YA'S OUT. That version is sooooo good.

QuoteHairball QuoteCJFP Wonder when (if) this will be released? I mean it's been over a year since Really Wanna Tell the Truth And there was the other harder, bluesier one w/the wailing harmonica. Ghost Town wasn't teased out like this by Mick alone, so maybe this is just another one of his unfinished demos that needs more work and collaboration from the others. There was also anot

I like what I heard. Hoping another Stones single will come out soon. Mick's only working on Stones stuff so I doubt this something solo.

Quotegonzalo76 Well, FLAC does not mean lossless here. You said all these tracks came from YouTube? The sound quality is definitely a lossy source. I've never seen this frequency and spectral View in my life, not to mention the volumen level... Thank you anyway! My mistake!! These actually came from a couple different bootlegs I found. I'll be completely honest, I

QuoteTIRED Thank-you for uploading these files. How does one get access to such high quality alternate mixes? Most of these came from the ABKCO YouTube Copyright dump from the end of last year. I had no idea "Sympathy" had its vocals re-done until I heard it on a new bootleg from DOG n CAT Records that came out this past year. I took the tracks into Audacity and did a bit of playi

Made a little compilation of the original mixes for GET YER YA YA'S OUT that includes every song with their original vocals (except for Love In Vain and Midnight Rambler which were left alone). Midnight Rambler has its full harmonica intro edited out on the final album. Stray Cat Blues is not circulating with its original vocal so I kept it in for completion purposes, although this edit I in

I've been very much looking into building a compilation of the original soundboard recordings from MSG 1969 during the pandemic so I found this thread if it's okay to rehash it from the dead. So far this is the information I have about the sources from Get Yer Ya Yas Out: Jumpin' Jack Flash (MSG 11/27) Carol (11/28, 1st Show) Stray Cat Blues (Baltimore 11/26 and/or MSG 11/28

Quoterebelhipi I was reading some reviews from early 1999 shows. A cage onstage during Out Of Control was mentioned a few time. Does anyone have a picture of it? If you watch the Tip of the Tongue documentary from the Four Flicks video (was up on YouTube but taken down), somewhere early on Mick talks about the stage designs they've had over years where he then says the new tour (Licks
