SSoulie, I would be glad to say my part; I just don't know which way to dig for the second show. The one most commonly heard I assume is the first show, which I'm looking at right now. What boot is the second one on? Or can you post it?

Ok, now I just feel stupid: I still can nor find those tow cuts on the 65 pages. And I have had the RO site marked on my Favorites for 7 years. I know that site inside out. Later on it mentions those two cuts as unverified from the tour with no tape existant. I would like to know the source; not because I doubt it, or am trying to prove someone wrong. Just for my own Stonesbrain that now feels li

I have to be honest: I did not like it very much. Forget that Keith and Ron had played JJF too many times already by then and don't hit the 1-2 punch hard enough anymore. What I really didn't like is that Keith used the same production ideas for her version that he did with the Stones. The shakers comiog in with the solo;not again Keith.

Wasn't Krokus or Tucky Buzzard the opener in 73 Europe? Not Stevie Wonder? I read where Marshall Chess says that he plays trumpet on the last 8 dates of the 73 Europe tour. At firts I thought this had to do with this thread, but It looks like he says he played with Wonderland. But they were not in Europe with the Stones. Is he getting his tambourine playing mixed up? And if he is mixed abo

I don't like "Short and Curlies" either. One of the very very few Stonestunes I outright do not like.

Gazza, I'm not trying belabor this point, but I can not find the songs on the Rocks Off Setlists. That is the source I usually go by. I knew about "Good Times"; don't know why I mentioned it.

So "Hitmakers is almost as close as LIB. Instrumental 3 chord blues should count as an aborted Country Honk.

That is so Keithian..to not like the Internet. Just imagine if electric guitars had only been invented 2 years ago. He'd be all cranky about that electrified alien music. Where you got to plug in to a socket; that ain't real music..

I think what is missing Doxa is the grit, the horns too, and the gypsy atmosphere. No matter how good a song IYRWTBMF is (and it IS a great one to me!) and no matter how hard Jagger sings, the sesswions are form Munich. In a vacuum cleaned studio; they were all wearing sweaters in the photos; these were clean sessions compared to the circus of Exile. There also seems to be a huge amount of compre

I am confused here: when was "One More Try" and "Good Times" played? (Off US -OOOH) And "Under Assistant" - Time is on my side mentions it as having been performed live. Do any of the other sites that are considered sources? Also "Hitmakers" has only "Little by Little" not played. But this is not counting the instrumental "Now I've g

Would the "Out of Time" single be considered the most successful single by an artists singing a J/R tune?

So there really aren't that many complete ones. 3 performed all the way. and "Banquet" and "Tattoo" are pretty close. I think some of the very early ones have also been picked over. The middle bunch (Aftermath, Buttons, Satanic) was never much of a live vehicle. We should do a thread on the album with the LEAST performed live. I bet "Buttons" wins. "Dirty

The line Keith sings is "And I really want to understand you baby". That might be the only line Keith sings in the whole song. But I was listening in headphones and in the second bridge when it goes "People tell me you were a vulture" I used to think it was jagger double tracked. But I think it is Keith with him. In the first words of that phrase it sound slike him. And I also

Sticky Fingers Let it Bleed Black and Blue Only ones I can think of. There are some where they just need to play one little tune and they would join the ranks. "Banquet" missing Jigsaw Puzzle.

Yes Jelle, I had forgotten - I have seen Hand of Fate in 03. Thanks. The thing was that I was otherwise detained for much of the Licks tour, so I only caught some of the big outdoor shows. Karl, "Black and Blue" also has had all songs done live.

There is "Calling all Stations" from Genesis, Not that most of any post-Gabriel was any good, but that one was with Tony Banks running the show. The had a hired gun named Ray...something singing. Dreadful. Then there is "Infatuation" by Rod Stewart. This one was also the logical sinkhole for him to end up before he found his new muse. Bad, truly bad. T. Rex hit bottom wi

This tune is not very popular with the Stoners. I don't understand why. It has always been one of my favorite Jagger songs that he vocalizes on. Matter of fact I think of this oen together with "Let it Loose"; as those mega ballads in the 70's where Jagger really went to town. The ending part, the trading off with Blue Magic is great. Taylor plays one of his solos. keith adds

As frantic as the 72 tour was, it seems that the US setlist was still more "relaxed" (and I mean 'relaxed' only in it's setlist on paper) in it's pacing. In Europe they added the new GHS tunes; those were all fast ones. "Angie" took "Love in Vain"s place as the only ballad. "Sweet Virginia", "Dead Flowers" and "Bye Bye Jo

Whether they can write is secondary to how seemingly complicated it has become to get together to do it. Mick and Keith do not hang out together. I bet the only time they see each other on these mega tours is on stage. OPhoto shoots etc. But this hanging in each other's hotel room is no more. Hanging at the other's house is no more. They live on different continents. That leaves "o

The sites both have contradicting data. Madaio was the trumpet'flugelhorn/trombone man. But supposedly neither one of three major players did the entire tour. So who played trumpet when Madaio was not there? Jim Price is not mentioned; was he definetly not there? Also I seem to recall some phots from 73 with Jim Horn in there.

I wrote off Nick Kent for exactly the reasons you mention Nikolai. The frustrated musician syndrome was becoming too obvious. It seems to me that he trashed anything that overlapped with the actual time that he himself would have been playing music. Anything earlier seems to be okay, since it could not have possibly rivalled his own stuff. I don't know the man and his rock'n roll caree

How about those "Time is on my Side"s with Sarah Dash and the Winos? Especially towards the end when they would do a complete stop...breathe..then full blast "You come running back.."!!! I think it rivals the Stones version.
