The Stones blew me away last night. I have seen over 50 gigs in London this year including some big names but The Stones topped the lot. Seen them over 20 times since Earls Court and they still rock. Thankfully they moved Sympathy For The Devil to later in the set where the red lighting worked better in the darkness. Not sure why they opened with it in Dublin. The gigsntic screens were st

They also do this for most shows at a The 02 Arena. Perhaps it's someone's job at London Underground.

Not sure about Sympathy For The Devil opening the show. Works much better later in the set when it's darker and the lights kick in.

Some shows in London when The Stones are playing... Oddly enough Nick Mason has a rest day on the first Sones London show so it's possible he may be going to it. Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets have announced that they’ll play a handful of shows in London. The project features former Pink Floyd drummer Mason along with Gary Kemp, former Pink Floyd bassist Guy Pratt, The Blockheads dru

The Stones will want the last hour or so in the dark so the lights look better so I would imagine they will be on around 8.30pm to 10.15pm. Bound to be at least one support act.

Advance warning... I go to loads of gigs in small and large venues in London and I can def say the worst departure after a gig is easily The London Stadium. Bearing in mind it's a good 20 mins walk from Stratford Station going in then when 50,000 punters are coming out at the same time and nobody knows where they are going...following folks down dead ends...bottleneck queues...it can ea

The good thing with any kind of travel for The Stones shows is that the shows are mostly three days apart rather than the next day in another city so you have time to recover from any after gig travel hiccups.

Ever since I saw The Stones at Earls Court in the 1970s they have always been masters of hyping up the punters to scramble for tickets. All the main UK newspapers had articles on the tour announcement. Seems there are always enough Stones fans to cough up. My friend works at The 02 and got me into the gig and hospitality when they played there. The hospitality was in the big room next to Indi

Regards your travel option in the UK. Stones have two or three days between shows usually. Trains are quicker but more expensive...you can try a bus for cheaper? Two popular bus services are National Express and Easybus.com They run between most big cities and can be a bargain in advance. London to Birmingham is around 3 hours London to Manchester is around 5 hours.

Regards hotels in cities in the upcoming Stones UK tour. www.easyhotel.com has cheap small rooms in most of the cites they are playing. London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh etc. I have stayed in Gloucester Road and Old Street for London gigs. Some nights price is only £20 a night (best nights are Sundays). If you were to gamble on the predicted nights Stones are playing you can still

They have so many great songs. Would be nice if they played the UK again. I saw them play two great shows in 1975 with Thin Lizzy as support. Bachman Turner Overdrive + Thin Lizzy Hammersmith Odeon, London 03.05.1975 9.5 fantastic double bill. Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham had joined Thin Lizzy last year and with Lynott you knew they would be huge . Bachman Turner Overdrive + Thin

The Doobie Brothers at The 02 is sold out so there is a demand even though just one original member. Remember in years to come heritage acts will be using holograms as no original members will be around so best to see what you can of them now. How many bands from the 70s still have all original members? Sex Pistols Aerosmith Must be a couple more?

Promoters AEG Live are planning a new festival for Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire for next summer, reports Music Week (here) - with rumours of The Rolling Stones being lined-up to headline. Knebworth Park is one of the UK's more legendary outdoor venues, having hosted the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones in the 1970s, as well as major shows by the likes of Oasis

Yes would have a nice gesture for Grenfell if The Stones played for them. There is benefit footie game at QPR this Sat 02 Sept which has footballers and musicians playing to raise funds at £15 quid a ticket. Marcus Mumford is involved and some thought a gig would be better. Stones could have filled it and raised more money and would be perfect timing for a full rehearsal for mainland Europe.

After around half an hour we get some special guests joining Paul on stage who were RONNIE WOOD and KELLY JONES to sing a great version of The Faces classic 'Ooh la la'. Oddly enough I saw the same trio perform the same song at a Kelly Jones TCT show in 2012. Ronnie Wood and Paul Weller both

Not sure this has been mentioned before...but will mention anyway. The Rolling Stones historic ‘Havana Moon’ concert will be released on DVD in November but for some reason it is five songs short of the actual show. Dropped from the show for the DVD are ‘Tumbling Dice’, ‘All Down The Line’, ‘Before They Make You Run’, ‘Miss You’ and ‘Start Me Up’. Why leave out some great tracks?
