Spending half the night on the highway I had the doubtful pleasure to listen to the radio for several hours (reason: misplaced USB stick). Despite being no 1 in the iTunes charts over here (and no. 50 on shazam ) Ghosttown wasn't played even once. According to the DJs, a ton of never-heard of people (at least, people I never heard of) have new songs out but the Stones didn't even get a

QuoteElmo Lewis Can't Mick and Keith write TOGETHER via Skype or something? Technically they certainly could. They could even invite Ronnie to a Skype (or other) conference and work in a threesome. Jamming together in sync might be a problem with Keith in the States (delay). Judging from what Mick said in an interview these days they don't work together in a conference setting but

QuoteRockman The one bit of good Stones news in the middle of all this, however, is that Jagger and Richards have plenty of extra time on their hands now. “We’ve got another five or six tracks and there’s a lot of sort of soul feel about it for some reason without anybody intending to,” Richards said. “Obviously right now we’ve got nothing else to do but write some more songs, right?” Y

Quoterattler2004 Thanks Deathgod, I’d have never learned about this if it wasn’t for this thread. Over here the song got a (very positive) feature of its own on the 10pm TV news.

Surprising news from a French study: "Conclusions and relevance: Our cross sectional study in both COVID-19 out- and inpatients strongly suggests that daily smokers have a very much lower probability of developing symptomatic or severe SARS-CoV-2 infection as compared to the general population." A similar observations had already been made by a Greek-American study: "An

I think the reason why the Stones' contribution had such an impact (so many people talking about it, not just us here) is because it was so charming. And it had such a positive vibe. This was not about delivering a perfect performance in the technical sense, it was about delivering something suiting that particular occasion, and that's evidently what they did. Whatever the story behind

QuoteHairball Fun to watch the Stones even a second time, but performance wise it was a bit anticlimactic which is to be expected under the circumstances - watching twice was probably more than enough. Mick's singing was good along with his overall presence, but Ronnie was a bit loud, while Keith was a bit under the radar imo. You know when the highight of a performance is Charlie playing

I guess Mick produced a lead track and the others added their bit to that (with Charlie exploring the ride cymbal qualities of his sofa's armrest) and that was then edited together.

QuoteMAF I think I can hear some additional keyboards in the background... Yeah, there were keyboards, presumably got in the same way as Charlie's drum sound It wouldn't have hurt if Keith had rehearsed a little, too.

Quotebv - Covid-19 may be in 40% to 50% of the population without symptoms - Lock down is highly effective, within 3-4 weeks Now the big challenge is what's next of course, after lock down. As for the dark figure (i.e. persons without symptoms) it possibly depends on when and where. In a nationwide cross-sectional (prevalence) study over here (Austria) per April 6, it turned out tha

In order to get a better idea of the dark figure of infected persons, Austria conducted a nationwide cross-sectional (prevalence) study, testing a sample of 1566 symptom-free persons in the age range from <1 year to 94 years in the first week of April. It turned out that at the time of testing, only 0,33% of the persons in the sample were infected with CoVid19. In a way, this is good news a

QuoteManofwealthandtaste Apologies if this is an ignorant question, but in the absence of a face mask is there any point in wearing a scarf (folded over a number of times) or is this useless? Would this be better than nothing at all? I ask because it appears many basic face masks do not contain any sort of filter and so their effectiveness must be in doubt. Here's a bunch of links on which

A big problem with youtube these days seems to be that educational videos dealing with music are blocked very quickly if they involve a song. Rick Beato and others are having a hard time because of that.
