Seen: Elvis (April 29, 1977, Duluth, Mn. when I was in fifth grade.) Stones (1989, 1994, 2005, 2015 with daughter who was in fifth grade) McCartney (2002, 2005 - fell onstage - 2013, 2017) Dylan (1986, 2003) k.d. lang singing Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah during the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics; easily one of best things I've seen in my life. Orlando, 2015 Took my 9-year-old daughter. When I was 9, in 1977, my dad took me to see Elvis. Seeing Elvis is something I can claim for the rest of my life. I've never met anyone my age (54) who has seen him. I want my daughter to be able to claim the same thing with the Stones. Took her to see McCartney a year later.

Quotetommycharles Listened to The Game straight through just now, as it was 40 years old last week. Sonically, it shares a lot with News Of the World, insofar as it eschews studio excess and focuses on the sound of the 4 of them playing together. But in terms of the songs themselves, The Game is very much a singles album. The ones you know (Play The Game, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Anoth

Quoteschillid QuoteChester For an American original, this is anything but. This is nothing more than "American Pie,'' or "We Didn't Start the Fire,'' written by Billy Joel as he was giving his kid a bath. Interesting... I also thought about the apparent similarity to those two songs. But Dylan's lyric resonates and does what neither "American Pie&

Sorry, but I have a hard time taking lists like this seriously when obvious typos are made. "Mary" Clayton? "Under Cover of the Night?''

Quotevirgil QuoteChester Speaking of the movie "Kill the Irishman,'' Ronald Carabbia, the guy who killed Danny Greene, is still alive and lives in my town in Florida. I am a newspaper reporter and wrote a column about it. Great column Chester , very interesting these guys ending up in the same area. I can’t tell people enough about Kill the Irishman. From Documentaries to pie

Goodfellas - Absolute brilliance until the drug stuff during the last 1/3 of the movie. About 30 minutes too long. Casino - Very entertaining, despite being a Goodfellas knockoff. The Departed - Highly overrated. Forced performances. The rat at the end was comically bad and cheesey (see what I did there?)

There is one thing that has not been mentioned in this thread, but is extremely important when it comes to Ronnie and the Stones: He looked the part.

Manson's grandson lives by my house in Florida. His name is Jason Freeman. I've talked to him a few times, nice enough guy I guess. He says his dad was Charles Manson Jr., who changed his name to Jay White and eventually killed himself in Colorado because he couldn't handle being Manson's kid. Can't blame the guy. Bonus Uncle Charlie Fun Fact: Vincent Bugliosi

Quotematxil QuoteSend It To me Reading Joe Perry's book now which is very good and I recommend. They began with Tyler/Perry on most song but in the 80's brought in outside songwriters to assist and were able to sell many millions of records on big hits late in their career from '87 to '01. Do you think Mick and Keith could/should have helped the Stones continue to have to hi

They better come back. It is absolutely disgusting, appalling and beyond comprehension to think their last U.S. performance was in a tent for Robert Kraft.

Quotebitusa2012 Bon Jovi??? C'mon..... ....ahead of the Moody's or Dire Straits? Or Nina Simone? NO way. Bon Jovi, like Huey Lewis to me, would struggle as a PUB band in Australia, just so generically awful. Could not agree more. Bon Jovi is quite possibly the worst band ever.

I was disappointed to see Ronnie wearing a sweatshirt in Spielberg that looked like someone ran out mid-concert and grabbed it from the souvenir stand. It had the name of the venue on it. Not a good look in my opinion. That's like paying to participate in a running race and then wearing the T-shirt they give you in the goody-bag. Always thought Ronnie dressed the coolest out of everyone.

Me, and I'm going to say this again: Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special was the pinnacle of Rock and Roll. Nothing ever topped it. Also, no one - not one woman or one man - ever looked better than Elvis did during those performances. Watch them. It's almost like he's embarrassed by the otherworldly talent, charisma and sex appeal that is pouring out of his body. Truly stunning. I al

Quotekeefriffhard4life QuoteChester One of most overrated, bland artists in history. Most of his songs are the same song. Tell me that Free Fallin, Running Down a Dream, Yer So Bad and I Won't Back Down are not the same song. I think he wrote those while giving his dog a bath and this guy's in the songwriter's hall of fame? Some early stuff is OK, but it's been pla
