So what are you saying then, you prefer the stones to prince? What a shocker! I think almost everyone on this board would feel the same way. But why are you upset that other people are upset, and trying to marginalize how they feel? Does it make you feel better? It's a shame he died at 57. And no, it does not make me feel good that so many people are upset. Quite the contrar

Stupidguy2, I get what you are trying to say r.e. Prince's lyrical message in the Reagan 1980's about the sky is going to fall if we don't get our act together, etc. I was in high school then, too. But didn't the Stones say the same thing on Gimme Shelter nearly 20 years earlier? And with a song that sounds a billion times more sinister, urgent and brilliant than &quo

That's the thing ... I do like some of Prince's music and greatly respect his overall ability (and I'm hardly looking for any attention and I'm not about to step down for expressing my opinion of someone's music.) It's just I don't think his catalogue was representative of his immense talent. He always said he didn't do press because he didn't want

Of course every artist writes stupid throwaway lines, many of them. It's all about the rest of the canon. Dylan had some bad lines within bad songs, but a great abundance of his work is brilliant. Same thing with the Stones. And the Beatles. Throw away the obligatory bad work, and Prince's best does not come close to the best of the Stones, Beatles or Dylan. Again, that m

I definitely get Prince. I don't think you are getting me. No question: He was a great musician. No question: Comparatively speaking, his records and lyrics should have been much better than they were.

The Oscar was won for Purple Rain. That was in the mid 80's. What did he do after Purple Rain? Oh yeah, Under the Cherry Moon. After that, no idea. I'm not disputing he was one of the greatest musicians in history. What I'm saying is with all of that talent he had, he should have recorded better records. His true talent was not represented on the records he produced. Fo

I grew up in Minneapolis, have been to First Avenue many times, and have seen Prince in concert. I stand by my post. Someone with that amount of God-given talent should have been capable of writing something better than "It's just another Manic Monday, I wish it was Sunday, That's my Fun Day.'' That's not being ignorant. That's being honest and perha

Yes, absolutely, underachiever. He was an incredible, incredible, brilliant musician, but his amazing talent never came out in the records he made. That's what I mean by underachiever. "Lets go Crazy, Let's get nuts." (Not exactly brilliant songwriting, is it?) "Rasberry Beret'' "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World'' "Cream

Grew up listening to him in Minnesota in the 1980's and saw him live a few years ago in Tampa after I was blown away by his Hall of Fame solo on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps.'' Incredible, incredible talent ... Which is why he is probably the most underachieving artist of all-time. He could play all of those instruments so well, was such a perfectionist, some people

They should have hired Hulk Hogan when he approached Jerry Hall and said he wanted to join the band.

She's essentially terrible, but Don't Speak is a terrific song. Why? It's the last pop song to have any emotion or feeling in it.

I heard Yer Blues on the radio for the first time the other night (yeah, I know). It was played for the anniversary of Lennon's death. Anyway, I figured it was a version by the Beatles and my first impression was how good McCartney was on bass. Really killing it. After the song the DJ said it was from Rock'N'Roll Circus. I went back and watched it on Youtube and I'll

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but when was the last time anyone performed Satisfaction with Mick Jagger? Has anyone? Pretty iconic song to just let anyone sing.

What an utter disgrace. Fallon couldn't stop babbling long enough to let Keith say more than three straight words and then it was over. Just terrible. Even Keith seemed disappointed, but was too cool to let it show. That's what made Johnny Carson so great all those years ago on the Tonight Show. He understood who the real star was - and it wasn't him - and he just shut the hell up

Love this song. Remember hearing it for the first time on my clock radio when it first came out - KQ92 in Minneapolis. Took my 8-year-old daughter to Orlando show in June and we both heard it live there. That's truly mind-boggling to me. Wonder if Orlando is the last time they ever play it together, or if they'll dust it off again.

I agree with some of the above posters. Glad to see Keith doing a solo project, but this is hardly great. For those who live in America and are sports fans, this reminds me of Willie Mays winding down his career with the New York Mets. Or Joe Montana playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

I'm 49 years old and I run between 8-12 miles a day, so I'm in shape. Sometimes I will sing out loud as I run, just to try to understand on some small level what Jagger does. I usually don't sing for long. Try it sometime. It's tough. And he's going in short, more intense spurts, while I'm slogging along at a much slower pace.

Now that the U.S. shows are over, how about ranking them from best to worst, based on people who attended the shows, periscope views, setlists, blogs, newspaper reviews, etc.

What are the best and/or funniest posts you can remember on this site? This one today from Roll73 made me laugh out loud. It was on the thread about whether anyone would want to die at a Stones show. "Jeez - whatever next? If you were to be killed by a Rolling Stone, which one would it be and how would they do it? (Keith, with the Telecaster, in the library)." Brilliant.

Better question: If you did die at a Stones concert, which song would you want playing when it happened?

I'm just talking about location. Elvis' last show was at Market Square Arena in Indy. The Beatles at Candlestick. The Grateful Dead at Soldier Field in Chicago, etc. Since the Stones have no real history with, or connection to, Quebec City, it would just seem odd if that's where it ends.

No offense to the fine folks in Quebec, but it just wouldn't seem right, would it?
