I suppose certain shows in 1972/73 (namely Brussels) were peaks, but I feel that in 1975, they reached a milestone, being onstage for two hours. They seem to have been sloppy then, but got their act (partially) together in '78, probably the last tour before the arena gigs began. More energy in those 1978 shows, too.

The only awful track on this album is 'Short & Curlies,' purely a space filler. The album has great drum beats and guitar solos. The outtakes did seem a bit better than the final product, in some cases (ex. Dance Little Sister, released versions VS. longer outtake).

I remember going through my dad's CD collection (vinyl later), and finding those 1980s remastered copies of LIB, Hot Rocks, Bridges, Voodoo, Jump Back, and a copy of that Symphonic Tribute to the Stones (y'know, the one with Jagger on 'Angie'). If I'm remembering correctly, I kept jumping back & forth between HR Discs 1 & 2.
