QuoteMax'sKansasCity QuoteBungo I haven't come across a Roy Rogers fast food joint in about 15 years. Do they still exist? Great burgers! Looks like the closest is in Ohio. How Far is that from Austin, Texas?

Maybe you're right. I just "return to poll" and re-vote. Who knows. The whole thing's probably a sham anyway. It's not like the accounting firm of Ernst and Young certifies the count.

Who among us has not Danced with Mr D now and again? I think Mick should break out that gold stripper outfit again in commemoration of their 50th.

Hey now! I happen to LOVE "Dancing With Mr D". I wish they'd put it in the set. It was a smash hit single back in the day. They ignore lots of their old hits yet cling like junkies to crap like You Got Me Rocking. No sense to it I tell ya.

The song itself is pretty solid. It has a good classic structure. I'd tweak it a little to give it a bit more interest (i.e. a steel guitar solo, some backing vocals, some added simple instrumentation like a jews harp or harmonica) and I'd re-write the lyrics to some degree to make it more memorable or accessible. The lyrics as they are just aren't quite working for me. Good sound

I too love the Eagles. Especially the "deep: tracks". The Desperado record does it for me every time. It's funny, but at the time it was not considered a successful release. Anyway, good work on the article and photos. Did you find all of the photos online? Finally, are you the guy who was going to write a book about the Sex Pistols 10 or 15 years ago?

This is a case of the "liberal" populace protesting against the islamic president that they recently elected and his intolerant fundamentalist policies. Methinks they should have thought of that before they elected him. Good luck with that. Hopefully the Turkish military will get rid of the current leadership and hold new elections or install a moderate, but I wouldn't be placing a

2 million sounds like a LOT of money for The Stones to throw at Taylor but I'm not saying it's not possible I'm just saying that The Stones are notoriously tight-fisted when it comes to money. Couple this with the belief that Taylor would probably jump at 1 million I don't see why they'd offer him double what he'd gladly take.

QuoteMathijs Quoteab He's been clean and sober for more than 30 years, and he still needs a new liver. Wow. Well, last year he opened a photo exhibition in Amsterdam and he was drunk as hell, and coked up to the brim. Mathijs Are you SERIOUS? Actually it's probably amazing that he's even still alive. I think he was on the "Next 10 Rock Stars To Die" list for seve

Someone should really start a Bobby Keys appreciation thread. The guy has contributed so much to The Stones for so many years it's ridiculous. He was even a part of The Golden Era. This may be his last go-round with the Boys. I'll like to buy that sommabitch a beer some time.

Ohhhh.....THOSE inflatable dolls. Yeah, I miss them but that's all pretty much part of the past, isn't it. Obviously The Stones don't miss 'em. I'll tell you what I do miss, though, is The Belt being whipped on the stage by Mick on his knees during Midnight Rambler. To me that's a classic part of the act and should have stayed in.

Nobody knows. We're all guessing. What do you think? I see 21 shows on the list so let's say they guaranteed him $200,000, divide that by an even 20 shows and you get about $10,000 a show. I gotta think that's about tops. It might be as low as half that. Plus of course, all expenses paid, yada yada yada. Plus some money or royalties on the back end like the live dvd, live CD etc. P

QuoteAlfonz QuoteBungo Quoteflashhh I think the RO performance was crap. Jaggers voice is old and he cant do justice to such a great song. Frankly, it baffles me that so many people think they sound so good, especially people who, like me, have seen them many times going back to the early 70s. Will no one admit that KR and RW simply dont play as well as they used to? That Jagger looks silly and

I blame the WalMartinization of the last few Stones tours to the wives, girlfriends, mistresses and occasional hookers that we hardcore, male Stones fans feel obligated to take to the shows. They wouldn't know a Fender from a Gibson or a great performance from a mediocre performance if it hit them in the ass. Yet Mick continues to pander to the lowest common denominator.

I'm also hoping that when they get a break from this tour that they get into a studio ASAP while they're still "loose and limber" and knock out some new tracks with Taylor. You just know that some good jamming is going on behind the scenes and that new song ideas are gestating and coagulating.

This was gone over quite succinctly in a Rolling Stone interview and article just prior to their Steel Wheels reunion tour. Basically they use a 3 step method. First, they all just listen to the song. Then they all play along with the song. Then they play it by themselves without the CD. It can go quickly or it can go on longer depending on what they're having trouble with. At that time Mick
