Ha ha 'Punk as my Nan'! I saw them in the 80's and my ears rang for a day from the volume! Loudest show I ever been too! What?

I'm not diggin' his music, but I respect the man and his intensions. He is almost instrumental in popular culture for creating awareness regarding hunger in Africa. Everyone from politics to musicians, listened to him. You have to respect him for that. Compared to the likes of Bono or Sting, he is far more authentic.

Geldof has done some nice songs, but he is preaching way too much. At times he is a terrible wisecrack.

I was only 4 or 5, so I didn't watch it live. And I've only caught bits and pieces over the years, and as far as Bob goes those bits and pieces were mainly him talking and not performing. I did just watch that video. Not sure what to make of it. It's interesting, not sure if I like it though. I don't dislike his voice, but the music he's singing to isn't up my alley.

Like Bono, more of like a preacher/politician/modern day Jesus than a musician. I can't stand that. With the exception of I Don't Like Mondays he never performed a good song. Totally overrated.

He`s a great musician and has done quite a few good albums with the Rats - especially the first one!Amazing stuff!
Seen him about 15 years ago and it was a brilliant show.

I remember reading somewhere that the Stones have had trouble selling tickets in Italy over the years. Geldoff apparently only selling 45 tickets is pretty surprising though

It's been (nearly) 30 years so we can tell the truth about LIve Aid : famine in Ethiopia was organized by the government and his ethnic clan to destroy their enemy (= another ethnic clan). It was not the result of lack of rains or anything like that.

When Bob sobbed in front of his TV set seeing the kids with big bellies, he got the Live Aid going and raised millions.
Then the same Ethiopian government and his ethnic clan hijacked the food that arrived in Ethiopian ports, fed its army with it and went with the ethnic cleaning.
