I too love the Eagles. Especially the "deep: tracks". The Desperado record does it for me every time. It's funny, but at the time it was not considered a successful release. Anyway, good work on the article and photos. Did you find all of the photos online? Finally, are you the guy who was going to write a book about the Sex Pistols 10 or 15 years ago?

yeah it has 12 tracks. i'd say 5 are rock songs, 2 are country like eagles songs and the rest are ballads. problem is the ballads are all loaded towards the end of the disc so after the first 6 tracks it starts getting a bit boring. should have spread them out more.

The Eagles are fantastic...Great musicianship and harmonies...

Hey Chris..it would have been just a hint better if you had included some before and after shots like you did with the Stones one.

I had to break out my LPs to see half of what you were talking about.

Were the videos on the Long Run recorded at Record Plant?

I know. I saw the movie (very good, too). But Felder was always a problem in the Eagles. If bands were democracies we would have had Stu Cook writing as many Creedence songs as John Fogerty, and Bill Wyman writing as many Stones songs as Mick and Keith. There is a case to be made that Frey and Henley deserved a bigger cut, as it was their songs who people were going to see. I am not saying it's an open-and-shut case, just that there's an argument to be made for it.

The Eagles without Don Felder makes the Stones without Bill Wyman look like the Beatles without Pete Best.

Nice story. Laurel Canyon could easily become a whole book in itself with all its storied (and unstirred) history.

famous eagles songs written or co-written by members other than frey/henley:
hotel california
victim of love
those shoes
take it to the limit
witchy woman
in the city
i can't tell you why

thats a good lot of the hits but anyways i think felder wanted tour revenue split equally not album sales

Frey and Henley are human feces IMO.
