Mick gets great review from the New York Times: NY Times review "There’s some grim stuff here, but very little of Willeford’s mordant humor. A small and potent quantity of this quality is delivered by the larger-than-life rock star Mick Jagger in the role of Cassidy. Jagger shows a refreshing lack of conventional vanity by allowing both Bang and Debicki to tower over him. Possibly bec

Quotegrzegorz67 QuoteGaetzi I'd avoid the front and make sure you're against some sort of rail. As mentioned, the rail (gate) against the catwalk is great, we were posted up in front of the back gate and it was perfect. The idea being you have real space to call your own, you're not being bounced around as people push past you to get beers, etc. There was a stadium's worth of

I think Tom Petty is among the all-time greats. His songs are beautifully written and connect to me and many others in a simple, deep way. Here's just one example -- an obscure song from the first Mudcrutch album. Many of us have watched others around us struggle and give in to addiction when life has thrown them a curveball. Read these lyrics while listening to the song about the pain

QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa Quoteslewan QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa eagerly waiting for the Marseille announcement. (After seeing Cage the Elephant twice in Paris last year, I finaly found a genuine appetite for supports at Stones gigs... ) right, maybe the best support act I've ever since (except for Bob Dylan opening for Neil Young in 1996) Really great band. Saw them twice in Paris too -- th

Just getting settled back in NJ after seeing 2 great shows in Zurich & Lucca. Met a few great Stones fans & IORRers who also saw both shows. Here are a few pics. I'll post a few of the Lucca show soon. The Stones continue to amaze me. They played their hearts. I have got to find a way to see them again on this tour.

QuoteHotStuff92 QuoteChester One of most overrated, bland artists in history. Most of his songs are the same song. Tell me that Free Fallin, Running Down a Dream, Yer So Bad and I Won't Back Down are not the same song. I think he wrote those while giving his dog a bath and this guy's in the songwriter's hall of fame? Some early stuff is OK, but it's been played to

Very cool -- thx Who's the "4th guitarist" on stage near the keyboards at 6:49? (he's wearing a pink shirt & a vest) Is that a guitar tech or did someone join them? Doesn't look like Santana and it's hard to tell if it's Eddie Money (and doesn't really make sense to have him join them on stage and play guitar).

I do remember how bad Foreigner got treated for overstaying their welcome with extended bows. Someone threw an orange that hit the bassist's poncho and left a big wet mark. After that the floodgates open and they had to run off stage I made the trip down from North Jersey the night before and camped out by a gate. Drank thru the night, woke up with my face resting on the pavement -- jus

Quotemasseywinos When Mick is playing guitar is he actually playing anything? He's just playing A & D open chords during parts of the song. The verse & chorus just rocks back and forth between those 2 chords. Very simple, but helps drives the rhythm a bit while Ronnie & Keith play little riffs and different voicings (variations) of the chords. You can see & hear it

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 My first Stones gig was Philadelphia '78 at JFK. I dont remember many things anymore. But I do remember that 'Imagination" rocked. It went on and on, and I really felt like I went to another plain during the song. ( I was also pretty loaded) My 1st Stones show too. And I clearly remember the great vibe that went through the stadium during that numb
