Compared to the price of a used copy of Tarle's Exile, those prices are a bargain.

QuoteBostonLass And yes, the Rolling Stones have the sole "quad" on the list (Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street) since none of the four albums could possibly be dropped. Add Goats Head Soup to that string of LPs and make it a "penta".

Search through the IORR archives for a thread that is something like "Did Lynyrd Skynyrd really blow the Stones offstage at Knebworth?". There were several first-person accounts about Knebworth 1976 posted in that thread. One person in particular (I think his name is "Four Stone Walls" ) posted some really detailed memories about his experience at Knebworth.

latebloomer: Thanks for the post. I hope all is well with you and your family. I did not view Walter as being like Faust. Faust (at least in my reading ages ago) seemed to realize that what he had wished for was not all he had imagined it would be. Walter does not seem to have such regrets, at least that I can recall. He was living the high life as exemplified by his buying his son a sp

This show seems to hook certain people. I didn't care for it. My wife, however, binge-watched the whole series. For a few days the TV was playing nothing but Breaking Bad for 14+ hours straight a day. For me it was Hell.

Quotebv I went to see The Rolling Stones four shows at Shea Stadium NYC late 1989. We stayed on 45th st and we could not cross the street because there were drug pushers and hookers everywhere. The avenue that took us to 42nd st and Port Authority bus station, which was a crazy place. One of us got robbed, the taxi driver that took us to the Stadium offered us a joint (he was smoking it while dri

Whenever I post a new thread on a topic & it has been addressed in a prior thread, I will get several follow-up posts with links to the prior thread. Even if that prior thread is from 2009. Plus a few smart-a$$ posts about how to use IORR's search function. But now it sounds like if I bump a prior thread, I'll get slapped down too. I predict this issue will be discussed

You can always find someone to take it. Look at how many people are clamoring in this thread - sight unseen - for these items. If anyone in the NJ area wants to get rid of their stones stuff, please let me know. I promise not to sell it.

Quotestanlove OK then you tell me why the Smiths who are so loved in England are nothing at all, and I mean at all in America. I have never met an America that likes them. I have to admit that the Smiths never achieved the following here in the USA that they seem to have in the UK. In the 1980s they were much less popular than other British groups such as the Cure. The Smiths just seem

Gomper. The version performed by KC & The Sunshine Band is mind-blowing. The version performed by Slayer, however, is rather mediocre. IMHO anyway.
