why do fans refer to keith interviews to find out the answer to any question?seriously, let me translate for you. so why did billy preston leave? well a guy like billy is so talented that he began to have too much of an influence on the stones sound. translation:i was so junked out the last few years that mick began writing our hits with other people.he wrote its only rock and roll with ron

people have been going on about this for years and it was always a joke before but in 2010 its not a bad idea.the guitar sound in the stones has become almost non-existent.they need three guitar players to stop the mish-mash of plinking keyboards and horns that has become their live sound.

Quotemickijaggeroo This is the usual scenario: Michael Cohl approaches the Stones, says, "You´ll get this much money for a tour consisting of x number of shows". So he is the one who worries if shows are not sold out, cause he is the one who "bought" the tour. Adding extra shows is icing on the cake. So the last tour when at some venues free/reduced priced tix were given out,

QuoteLieB Quoteboogie1969 QuoteNot trying to pick a fight btw, but if you don't like this thread maybe its best to ignore rather than post your negative views on a band that a lot of us here love. Why do so many here feel that negative viewpoints/opinions shouldn't be allowed, they are just as valid as ones that are positive. People have a right to say whatever they want, if YOU have

QuoteShawn20 If the Stones singing some of their most famous songs - Warhorses - bores you, then that in and of itself is a sign they might have trouble selling tickets. If the public can no longer get excited about J.J. Flash, HTW, BS, - then maybe the demand for the STones will be small. Indian Girl won't bring the crowds. its not that seeing the guys do the old songs bores me,its the co

if they try to match U2 they are toast. the stones should start off with a mixed tour like in 78.they did very small theaters in some major markets i.e the only new york gig was the palladium and in detroit it was the 3000 seat masonic temple.this created huge demand for the 81 tour three years later.in 81 they played 2 nights in detroit to about 160,000. they should do a 2010 tour the s

QuoteGazza Elvis toured pretty much solidly, almost every month of the year, for most of the last 7 years of his life -playing about 1,150 shows in that time (more than the Stones, for example, have played in total since 1967!). This 'myth'perpetuated by clueless journalists and bought into wholesale by much of the public that almost all of his concert schedule consisted of shows in

if you listen to "jamming with edward" its basically ry getting his chance to play guitar in the stones.i haven't heard it in years but if i remember correctly its mick, charlie, bill, nicky and ry on guitar.the whole thing is pretty much paint by the numbers blues, nothing special at all.someone needs to tell ry-just playing in open g does not equal writing honky tonk women.... and yo

who's the least talented person in these photos.the myth that chuck can play all the different styles of the men above is just that-a myth.its crap put forth by chuck and mick and keith.if you think he sounds like stu or nicky or any of the others you should have your ears checked.after seeing stu many times behind his grand piano i almost throw up when i see that casio and the plinking away

i love the stones as much as anyone but really, at this point there is no bottom.once you have stood onstage in front of 100s of thousands of rock and roll fans and done a duet with justin timberlake there really is nothing more you can do to your fans.if you weren't there its tough to explain.people were throwing sh+t...uuugh.blown off the stage?this was getting hurricane katrina'd off

this is so friggin STUPID.skull rings were worn by bikers years before keith ever wore one.same as wallet chains.now its a fashion item worth what,"$500 or so? don't be a sucker,a .925 sterling silver skull ring is worth about $100 or less and come in many styles.if you look around you can find one in keiths exact style for $80 or $90 tops.

as much as i love the stones "former greatest" would probably fit them much better today.it happened gradually-the same backing musicians every tour, the lame ,horrible lyrics on quickly thrown together records, the chuck leavell factor, bringing justin timberlake onstage and getting destroyed by ac/dc in toronto.pathetic moneygrab ticket prices, keiths buzzkill set as half the audience goe

one of the few greats who hasn't lost a thing.saw him first in 76and 80 and 89 with stevie ray.after 30 years i finally got to see him do some of truth and beck ola in 06.he had a singer named beth hart who was as close to a young janis joplin as i've ever seen and pino on bass.not sure about the drummer but it killed.superstitious, you shook me,morning dew,and going down for an encore.m

"he who shoots first" doesn't really apply no? the gun wielding lunatic was taken out by a hells angel armed only with a knife.a gutsy move i'm sure anyone would agree.its reality 2009 style, you're still a victim no matter what you did because the other guy was a "racist"

give me a break.in a crowd that big i would have disappeared in about 2 seconds if the angels started messing with me.instead mister tough guy pulled a gun,a gun that everyone was supposed to know was unloaded.how were they supposed to know that exactly? another poor black victim right? take that crap somewhere else,he got what he deserved.

think of it like this-if a group of fans, most of whom aren't musicians and have never seen the band in a studio can disect the stones output to what looks to me like about %100 accuracy, think of anitas perspective.believe me that girl was a badass and knew the music inside out.if you can find it theres an interview with keith from about 79 where she just f@cks with him the whole time, totall

mick and keith probably don't want to argue over a song so they just put everything on.studio diarhea has ruined more records in the cd era...plus they need more voices around them.someone to tell them "guys,"look what the cat dragged in'was a hit for the hair metal band poison during the 80's and the riff for driving to fast sounds like freakin INXS.please, i know you ha
