QuoteDoxa It is even painful to listen teh B-side of TATTOO YOU (yes, I am old-fashionable) and wonder what a hec happened to Jagger after that... It is most probably the most 'mature' (in a good sense) album side the band has ever put out, and Jagger's absultely INCREDIBLE there - the way he sings through those slows cuts - in falsetto, duetting with himself, high and low, changin

Quoteslew lem - Jagger never actually stated he wanted to end the Stones but it was fairly obvious in 1985-1986 that he was not into being a Rolling Stone at all I firmly believe that has She's the Boss been a huge hit Mick would not have gone back to the Stones. Mick was not up to par on Dirty Work he was concentrating on his own stuff. He clearly did not want the Stones to do live Aid and

Quoteslew The Dirty Work album had the ingredients to be a decent album the problem is Jagger wanted to end the Stones and was not into the album at all. Fight and Hold On are two of his worst vocal performances ever in my book. If someone likes them fine but the album does not work for me. I never listen to it except One Hit which I love. when and where did jagger ever state that he wanted to

99% of these journalists who write about the stones are such a joke.so overly dramatic "a season in hell" uh,yeah-a bunch of millionare rock stars living in mansions, driving rolls royces, the best drugs and drink available 24/7 ,surrounded by models and actresses and playing on the best equipment money can buy for their millions of fans... "a season in hell" would be,oh i do

the keith groupies need to get their story straight,if mick wasnt there why wasn"t this the great keith/exile part2 that jagger was supposed to move over and let him make all these years.he laid down the vocals and adios i thought he did a pretty good job and i like the record o.k. but make no mistake this IS keiths record.mick as much as said-"you want to run the band,do it"

the guitar playing is better than anything they've done since.one hit and had it with you are standouts.i also like too rude and harlem shuffle.if you're told something is crap enough it sort of ruins it but its a pretty good record. "this album cooks just below the surface, its built for the road"-KEITH RICHARDS

you could argue that madonna and some of these people actually hurt rock and roll.starting with the disco movement in the 70s club owners began putting in dj's instead of hiring bands.throw up a disco ball and there you go.madonna and that dance bullsht in the 80s just kept it going.jann wenner and his crap magazine have very little to do with r&r,they just use the name for their mainstr

its another modern stones record 1.if you look at any stones record from the 60s or 70sthey have a central feel and sound that threads through the record.the songs were put together like chapters in a novel.some very good songs were left off because they didnt fit and it really showed how much the band worked and honed each song and record. 2.this is just lazy-its just a bunch of songs thro

we're lucky mick puts up with it at all.despite the propaganda that jane rose and keith put out that mick was trying to be a solo star and recreate the stones with a solo band he never did. he never said he wanted to leave the stones and if he ever had a solo band with an izzy-mick taylor or rich robinson-marc ford style guitar duo then you could make the case.i tell you one thing,he coul

arent ac/dc also in their 50s or 60s? jeez ,its not like theres heavy lifting going on out there.the problem is ..once again, the money.its like ,'well we've charged them all this cash so we've gotta hang around a couple of hours" a pause for a couple of acoustic songs or some slow blues would be better than dead spots where people are actually leaving to go to the restroom

QuoteBrue QuoteBig Al I have zero sympathy for an old piss-artist who thinks solely with his dick. Look man, I'm as jealous as the next guy who doesn't have 50 million and 20 year old model dingbats following me around. I have to close my eyes and pretend they're 20. Sucks. People don't offer me 40 million to quit drinking and go on tour either. That mansion, with the fr

QuoteGazza Quotelem motlow KEITH and CHARLIE have each cost the band an entire tour, keith the 1979 european tour and charlie the 1986 tour because of drugs. A bit harsh. Keith was able to tour with the New Barbarians in 1979, so I dont see how his lifestyle (and this was AFTER his Toronto trial) would have affected a potential Stones tour that year. There were a lot of reasons why the St

strange how much the stones have sanitized their image in the last 20 years. dont want to anger the corporate sponsors ya know. even the fans sound like a bunch of old ladies talking over coffee,"oh dear he left his loving wife and then got into a fight with his new bimbo girlfriend and....blah blah blah.the more ridiculous ones are the "keith will want to get rid of him for this, keiths

QuoteShawn20 Adding Taylor to the current line-up certainly could not hurt the much maligned guitar section. Yes, much of the band's material is from the Taylor era, so it would be fitting. At this late date, neither Richards or Wood are going to improve their chops - neither seems particularly dedicated to their instrument. Anything that would improve the guitar sound of the Rolling Ston
