Quotetimmyj3 I just do not believe they have "lots" of super duper quality concerts in the vault. I pray I am completely wrong. Unless something pops up from an unexpected source I do not believe we will see any shows from 1980 or before with the exception of 1976 Paris and 1972 Philadelphia. We just don't know for certain what does exist. Informed sources like VideoJames su

Quoteyearsinthemaking Is there anyone who has the ear of someone important in the Stones organization? It's been pointed out many times in this site that people are getting older and there won't be a market for the Stones artifacts that are sitting there in the vaults gathering dust and rotting away. We know there has to be countless shows from the "golden era" that are ripe

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteGazza QuoteDandelionPowderman Many of those duets appeared on Honk. I doubt they'll do that again. True - which makes me more convinced that this was a projected live album idea that just didnt quite come to fruition, but they were able to find an alternative release where they were able to put out some of the tracks. They kind of work - as silly bonus tracks. I&

Quotebitusa2012 QuoteMisterDDDD Still of the belief they can and will pull this tour off in the fall. They, I bet are as determined as us hardcores, is my hunch. Be a great way to segway into some 60th shows for early '22. As of today the stated goal in the US is that anyone wanting a vaccine will be able to get one by spring with reaching herd immunity by summer. Whether that goal

QuoteDonnebr Hello I am thinking of upgrading from an SL 230 to the SL 1200 MkII turn table. I was reading some web reviews. Is this player as good as they say. The guy is looking $400 for it & it looks in decent shape. Figured I would ask on here as I know there is some tech savvy people on iorr. Thanks I would check where it's been used. If it's been hammered in a club ove

The other quick wins would be the band's appearances at the Glastonbury and Isle of Wight festivals.

QuoteGasLightStreet I can't remember... something from 1976 would be good, is it planned? Or just hoped for. It would be good because of the two TATTOO YOU tour shows, HAMPTON and LEEDS. That's fantastic, to hear the differences. Perhaps they'll release an URBAN JUNGLE show - that would be fantastic. There's two from the BRIDGES tour. Maybe another SOME GIRLS t

Our best bet for further shows from the classic era is 1976. It's the only touring year that has confirmed but unreleased footage. Has anyone ever personally seen non-public domain, pro-shot live footage from any other tours in the 1970s?

QuoteTaylor1 Quotekovach QuoteTaylor1 It’s really ridiculous that there is no great audio or video from the 1972 American tour. Not going to say that it was the Stones peak, but it was an incredible tour,Truman Capote and Princess Radvill not withstanding. Ladies and Gentlemen video and audio is decent.IMO ,it is pretty lifeless and the sound is muffled.Philadelphia shows aren’t very good sound

Will we see a "Poms in Oz '73" product in our lifetimes?? Two live shows plus a DVD with the extant live footage and promo interviews would be cracking.

QuoteHTD While I always look at these stupid things -- effective clickbait -- I don't put any stock in them. They're designed to provoke an emotional response -- usually a disagreement -- and get you to keep clicking. This is the website that apparently has no idea that two of the tracks on "Got Live If You Want It" were studio recordings mixed with audience noise, at l

QuoteBig Al Regarding The Beach Boys and them possibly being the greatest American band: am I the only one who prefers their songs about cars, girls and surfing? The bulk of Pet Sounds doesn't do it for me, and I only like their late-60's singles thereafter: Good Vibrations, Darlin', Do it Again, etc. I with you on this. Dance, Dance, Dance has some of the most amazing harmonies

Quotenonfilter I’ve always found Torn and Frayed interesting. It sort of changes keys every other line. From memory, it goes something like D>>A>>E>D A>>G>>D G>>D>>G for the "and you'll sing your heart away" part

First CD was Very Ancient, Thank You Kindly. I bought that at a record fair in Cornwall in the mid 90s. Moved to London a couple of years later and bought a load of VHS tapes from a guy who had a stall on the indoor part of Camden Market. The quality was shite but I was seeing the full legendary footage instead of the teaser clips on 25x5. I kept my bootleg thirst slaked with regular visits t

Quoteyorkshirestone I work nationally for the NHS in England - the scale of the vaccination plans here is staggering, looking to have 120,000 vaccinators recruited or redeployed and ready to vaccinate in early 2021. Also interesting the cost of these things. Pfizer and Moderna about 20gbp per dose, Oxford/Zeneca is 3gbp. England wise NHS is obviously free at the point of access but though

When I look back at all the albums and all the songs since Tattoo You, there are precious few tracks that make it into the live shows, much less become warhorses. Their entire setlist is dominated by 1960s and 70s hits. My point is - Is it worth the effort now to produce a new album when the likelihood is that only one new song will be played live, sporadically, on the next tour before disap
