Income? The Stones are still getting rich on the back of tours so have no motivation to spend the time/money on developing an anthology of outtakes. Dylan and Neil Young need other sources of cash, hence the extensive archive releases?

Quote24FPS QuoteStoneage Strange thing this. I remember back in the 80's and 90's. They hardly released any live shows at all. You had to settle with bootlegs. Which were a) expensive and b) mostly audience quality. Not to mention the videos. Poor quality on VHS cassettes. Now they are draining us with stuff. Pity it comes with a delay of a couple of decades... Obviously there must

Quote24FPS QuoteDandelionPowderman Quote24FPS Quoteatip Quotebv The way I know The Rolling Stones they will never end up like a Vegas act. They tend to tour where people live, not places where most people have to travel far to see them. I hope not. When you start doing long-term residencies and playing corporate annual employee events and conferences (like Aerosmith), IMHO, you've given up

Quotekeefriff99 I've gotten rid of all my VHS tapes. I hate clutter and hanging onto things for too long, so they're all gone. I'm just loathe to get rid of my Neil Young 'Weld' VHS as its never had a DVD release. O

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteFather Ted Does anyone keep hold of their old VHS tapes when these shows get officially re-released? I do. Not sure why as I haven't had a VHS player for years. I do indeed (need a new player as well ). But this time we'll get the complete show from Miami. Looking forward to that! It'll be good to see the complete VL show again after so many y

QuoteSpud QuoteFather Ted .. When played live, it just sounds like a generic pub rock song to me. There's some truth in that ... ...but there's also much truth, when they play Rock N Roll, in describing the Stones as the finest Pub Rock band in the world I wouldn't disagree with that!

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteFather Ted Love the album version but the live versions are just terrible. If they have to do that kind of song live, pension off IORR and revive @#$%&. Why is the LYL and LA Friday versions terrible? It's interesting that they felt the need to re-arrange it again when they brought it back after 1975/76, on later tours, though. I never understood that..

QuoteMadMax One of their finest because of what they make of it rythmically and lyrically, the song is a stroke of genius. People who don't get the song don't really get the Stones IMHO. Start Me Up could only have been written by Jagger/Richards. Same with Dice, Brown Sugar or Flash to name a few others. The studio is the best but there are so many great live versions, my favourite

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteFather Ted If they ever release an expanded Tattoo You, I'd love to hear one of the alternative versions of SMU. The acoustic version is a gem. Sounds good! Have any of these versions surfaced on boots?

Quoteclaremont29 When everyone mentions that the RS have many unreleased songs in the "vault". Where exactly is the "vault"? Is it a recording studio, an actual vault with tapes, or in someone's home? From what I recall reading in an interview with Don Was a few years back, the band have several physical locations around the world for long-term storage. Who knows what

QuoteGazza Seriously? Who other than a few nerds and completists are going to buy a couple of cds of half-arsed rehearsals? And rehearsals from a time when the shows themselves were pretty ropey at that What next? Silkcut78's 'bathroom tape' from the Matthias-Keller in Vienna in 1982 of Keith and Ronnie harmonising on 'Sea of Love' whilst having a piss?

Quoteerikjjf QuoteIanBillen What does 'ala carte' mean in terms of a tour? I don't understand how you mean? Explained here: Quotebv I have specific info about citices and the way they will organize, and how promoters have presented these plans, which means only the signatures and time allocation is missing. That is why I call it a la carte, they have these options now and N

I thought the Stones event shirts at Twickenham were overpriced at £35 so I bought two knock-offs after the show for £10 ea. They're OK although the photo on the back of one is not recent! Like they say, buy cheap, buy twice.

QuoteGazza Quotepowerage78 You know I am a huge AC/DC fan, my fav band. I am experienced so. Sorry but the Stones, just my opinion, are Mick and Keith. The Glimmer Twins would tour together without Charlie or Ronnie. Under the Stones banner certainly. Not at this stage. No way would they blood replacements now. At their age, it would be the perfect excuse to stop. The two of them havent b

Took us around 45 minutes to reach Stratford Station. Big crowd, slow moving, usual situation. We took a shortcut down some steps to the right which are just before the merch stands when you're walking away from the stadium. We came out just near the car park entrance. Not sure if we saved much time but it felt like we made up time as there were less people on the steps route and everyone

Quotekeithsman Quoteschwonek Quotekeithsman Keith is great so far this tour, i think the band are brilliant, i just think Charlie is the weak link. Ok i shouldn't have said it and i'm sorry. I think it is fair to criticize. But you deleted your key phrase: "Sorry to say but they need a new drummer." I think the core Stones consist of Mick, Keith, Charlie and the new guy Ron
