QuoteDandelionPowderman One question: The album credits state that only Brian and Bill do the back up vocals. However, Keith is very audible on Tell Me. Or is that Bill? I venture to say that that is Keith on the backing vocal there. That's my guess. At least that's who it sounds like to me.

Quotestupidguy2 Creem was brilliant. Funny ireverent and lots of Stones and of course, Lester Bangs. I so agree with this!! Best edition of Creem (imo) was the one that the whole mag was dedicated to the Stones (around Dec '72) Patti Smith had an article in there (Jagger of the Jungle), and this quiz think it was called "How Well do you know the Stones?" Some of the answers t

Quoteklrkcr This might be a case of wishful thinking, but would there be anyone on this forum who was there for the 68 NME - or possibly know someone who was? Would be great to know how JJF sounded. Not only that, but was the song played with the FULL beginning? Just was curious

Quotenankerphlege If I remember right plant had a son andaybe a wife? Die during zep plus the death of jb. Probably opens alot of old wounds for him. He needs to talk to a counselor or something. I remember his son Karac passed away while Zeppelin was on tour (think it was in '77) Don't remember hearing about Maureen (his wife then) dying during the 'zepp days' but I think

Didn't Keith say that the released version was some sort of mistake...? I couldn't agree more -- the alternate mix turns a muddy mess into a brilliant, um, mess. LOVE IT! Very very interesting!! I actually remember seeing this and Revolution on Frost I think it was ... I seem to remember reading at one point in the song someone (Paul?) dropped the 'f-bomb' and it's supposedly still in the song ... think it's just before the 'na na na na' part

Quotebustedtrousers Since Brian's in a suit, I think that's after a trial where he was acquitted. Keith and Mick showed up for support, and a show of unity, so I don't think it's quite as sad as it may look. If I'm right, since it was after a trial, Brian is likely sober, he tended to look pretty out of it in general at that time, regardless. However, he could have taken

(to the title of the thread) ... WANNA BET????? seriously, I love the whole album, but this is the song I've played more than any other track!! I remember when I first got this album back in 72 when it 1st came out, a friend was with me when I picked up it up. On the way going back to my house, my friend noticed the 'name' of this song on side 3, "Turd on the Run?"

QuoteStonesTod what's not to love? Eggsactly!! Specially love the 'bow bow bow bow bow' bv low in the mix in the verses ... and it sounds like marimbas at the end (so I'm presuming Brian here). One of my FAV tracks off the UK version of Aftermath. Actually ain't one track on the UK version that's a 'dud' ... -------------------------------------

Quotekleermaker QuoteDiamondDog7 I want to show and talk about 1962 - 1969... more about Brian's period with the Stones. More about Between the Buttons, Aftermath, December's Children, 12x5 etc etc etc etc. Bring it in! The Stones in the sixties: great time, great albums, great shows/happenings. BtB, Aftermath, TSMR: wonderful stuff. The oldies as well (Blue Turns to Grey, The

QuoteGazza Quotemitchflorida The album notes claim that the concert was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall. Was that also a lie? The funny thing is the only good part of the original release was the way some breathless American DJ introduced the group: "Ladies and Gentlemen, It's all about to happen! Let's hear it for the fantastic Rolling Stones!" And now I see

Quotemickijaggeroo At a hastily assembled press conference today, the Rolling Stones announced that they are planning another major tour which very well may prove to be the biggest tour of their storied career and perhaps the greatest tour of all time. With some of the details just now coming to light, many fans are speculating if the magnitude of it may signal that it will be their farewell tour

I was 9 then and got the biggest kick in watching the old bitties across the street... their expressions on their faces, when I'd be singing 'I CAN'T GIT NOOOOOO ... " Priceless!! Anyhow, that September came a re-run of Shindig, and I had asked my then 18-year old sister if we could watch it, cuz I want
