I believe the first screens that were utilized were in 1975 at the Capital Center in Landover, MD. In-house video with images projected on a screen in the center of the arena. New Orleans 1978 also had screen. A poor-quality video circulates of the N.O. show. I also remember the Carrier Dome shows in Syracuse 1981 had a screen above the stage. Probably the Pontiac Silverdome 1981 shows also

QuoteHouseBoyKnows Quotestanlove QuoteHouseBoyKnows Quotestanlove QuoteHouseBoyKnows Clearly the Stones had some rust to work out at the start of the tour, but it's hard to come away with anything negative after seeing/hearing the Hampton video/audio or even the LSTNT film. I would love to see them play that well again. Keith was always on and Bill was amazing. We just don't get that

Wholeheartedly agree about 1970! I went back and started re-listening to what's available from 1970. Great, great tour. First tour with Bobby Keys, Roll Over Beethoven, Let it Rock, first Brown Sugar, Dead Flowers and Taylor really settling in. I can't believe they did not record any of these shows professionally. Can anyone confirm? Plenty of differences from the 1969 American Tour

Lots of great interviews here. Very enjoyable. Keith came off as very warm and charming. Gave a short version of the incident in '73 that resulted in Bobby leaving the tour and resulted in not being part of the touring band. Contrary to Bobby saying it was only drugs. The documentary glossed over the fact Bobby was on the '81-82 tour saying his return to the road was the Steel Whee

The original schedule had the Stones playing Philadelphia's JFK Stadium on September 19 - 21. When the City of Philadelphia condemned the decaying structure as unsafe, there was a scramble to find Philly dates that would fit into Veterans Stadium's schedule (home of the Philles and Eagles). The opener was then moved to The Vet, at Buffalo's loss. The Stones spent the prior week i

Washington June 15, 1978 at the Warner Theatre. Cut short JJF after about 3/4 way through. Stage power went out, Stones left the stage and the building and did not return. Speculation that day was this was a "planned" malfunction so they could make their exit without incident. Not so sure.... Also, in Washington during Steel Wheels on September 25, 1989 after the Continental Drif

Wholeheartedly agree. The should have cloned that MSG seating plan instead of destroying it. Was the only arena where you could be sitting in the 200 level and feel that youwerethisclose to the stage. What were they thinking???

Quoterollingon Quotesteini Ok in my opinion this tour has been great, still is and hopfully will be for the rest of it. And i´m thankful and don´t like moaners. But never have i said a one should not be critical. So until now i vote for Under the boardwalk the hardest Stones moment to hear and watch, shiit, no guts, no rock and it´´s like listening to two queers in a karoki singing about the old

QuoteGazza QuoteCome On I have never heard a succesful 'The spider and the fly' live with Stones.. There's only one in circulation (Paradiso '95 was the only performance since 1965) - so unless you saw them in the US in '65, thats the only version anyone has ever heard. This Paradiso 95 version needs to come out in some on some future compliation. The Stripped Toshib

QuoteAddicted Very sad read. I'm a bit surprised by some of the comments here. I find it absolutely inapropriate to use irony and try to make bad jokes on Mick Taylor's behalf. That's definitely not the level of dignity or compassion I expect on this board. We mustn't get to the point where our blind loyalty to the band, and in particular - its founding members - makes it ok

Saw Dion this past April in Atlantic City. Well worth the $35.00. He's still "got it". His band had 2 guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and sax. The sax player was Arno Hecht (steel wheels tour). Dion's not any "lounge act" although we were lucky enough to see him in a casino showroom. Loads of interesting stuff on You Tube. Also check out his great contribution

Raisisng ticket prices in these economic times would be a mistake and kill their legacy for well-attended shows. They took ABB to 3 legs in the US and hit 3rd tier towns like Wichita, Louisville, Boise, ElPaso etc... There were plenty of seats available in major markets like LA, NY, Chicago and Boston stadium shows shows in the Fall of 06. IMO,they have overplayed the US market. Forget stadium

I went to all 3 shows in '89. In 1989, AC Convention Hall was probably the only east coast arena the could accomodate the size of the Steel Wheels stage and have enough open dates so the Stones could set up the pay-per-view broadcast. The Trump organization was negotiating with the Stones for Atlantic City shows when the Trump Executives perished in a plane crash. After the crash, they pai
