Gee, that'll be scintillating. Lemme guess: they'll discuss how Keith saw Mick with a bunch of old blues and rock'n'roll records under his arm on the train for the 1000th time?

No performing of course. That would make too much sense.

Can you at least wait for them to be on the show before you start complaining? You know, if you must complain...

I got no expectations, I will be happy for anything... but it would be spectacular if Mick and Keef would spend a lil time practicing an easy blues number and be able to pull out an (their) acoustic(s) (maybe Mick on Harp) (maybe Have Ronnie come walking in and play some blues slide) for this appearance and duet(+) a blues song as simple as they can... as simple as a couple of old dudes used to all the time, probably still do all the time, down on the bayou.

I would guess their segment will be like the other times they/he have been on this show and it will an earlier recorded segment which will be played back at the right time, after the show hypes it all morning "And coming up soon Mick Jagger and Keith Richards will be here to talk about..." as the show keeps people tuned in watching commercials.... so anyway... if they are not happy with (or blow) the first take of the song, they can redo it... or something. I dont know...

It would just be cool to hear them do more than talk about lemon farming.

Id love to see something like Ronnie and Keef did for the VooDoo Lounge CD-ROM back in the 90s see a snippet @ 2:20 [youtu.be] Those were my favorite parts of that CD-ROM

Then again... as I said... I have no expectations... and if Jagger/Richards simply show up smiling and talking that will be fine.

But as Joe Perry says Let the music do the talkin... and I agree

How does Today do in terms of ratings these days?
Are there other shows, e.g evening broadcasts to capture those who are unable to watch Today.
Or pure music/arts shows (or channels) perhaps.

I don't know anyone that watches it. It's astounding that it's still on - and anything else like it.

Because I love the Stones. My negativity is a recent phenomenon based on how the past year has gone. It feels like they're sputtering out at the end of their career, and it's disheartening.

You are aware of Chuck only playing the D minor-chord in the Desert Trip T+A-intro, right (just like he did in 1982, btw)? winking smiley

Part of me is always afraid they will embarrass themselves when they do these things. Keith is great when you read the transcripts of what he says, but often looks out of it. Mick just acts like he wants to get out of there.
Of course these things are very difficult to do; mostly actors are good at this, because an interview is basically an acting performance.

The segment will more than likely be pre-recorded.
Mick and Keith will probably be interviewed separately, each have a few short questions asked, and then it will be spliced together for the 'live' broadcast.
Zero chance of any tunes being played.

this is the most likely scenario and yes, zero chance of any songs being played.do some of you guys want the rolling stones/mick and keith playing on the fckng today show?are you kidding me?
it is possible they are interviewed together because they like matt lauer but i wouldn't read too much into it.remember when i asked if anyone could find a picture of mick and keith together in a non-working enviroment in the last 30?we're still at zilch..

I'm sure they were photographed together at Bill and Mandy's wedding.
1989.
so that's 27 years ago.

I do. It would be better than them talking about lemons farming and everyone needs to buy tickets to that thing. I dont really care what they have to say... I already know what they will say... Ive heard it 1000 times before.

Make a new one of these... something to look at in 20 years... something not just talk...

and not something them all rammed in a car singing like a bunch of...

Just play a simple ass 12 bar blues song maybe with some Mick harp... is it too much to ask?

But of course I got no expectations... of anything from them... ever again. So anything will be OK.

It is not really going out on a edge to say they wont play anything... of course they wont... they will be there to sell tickets to that museum thing they have going.

It may be recorded. Lauer may interview them earlier in the week.

Seeing they start at 5AM it's probably a safe guess to think it will be recorded.
