What's up with Mick's gun trilogy - Mother of a Man, Gunface, and Gun (are there any more?). Is he trying to establish street cred? In the first two songs he is awkwardly clear that...he has a gun, you can look at it, and then he's going to shoot you with it. Gun has a different message than the first two (and it also really sucks) but still shares the name. I always thought th

Maher also referred to "Neo-Con" and the Stones earlier in the show when he was talking about anti-Bush songs.

I don't think so. It was a bad period for the Stones, but not popular music in general. When you think back to some of the really good popular music from the 80s it is far superior to what passes as popular music today and for the past 10 years. I know Stones fans don't all love Prince - but you'd have to admit the stuff he put out in the 80s was in a different league than than

Jesse is a huge Stones fan. He was gov during the No Security tour and had the band over for lunch at the governor's mansion on the day of the show. He frequently wore a Stones jacket at official appearances during his reign. Unfortunately, he was an absolutely awful gov.

Anyone else think this is the highlight of Four Flicks? I love to crank this and refine my imitation of Mick. The boys seemed to be sincerely enjoying themselves during this one.

Lyrics seem less important to me in Stones songs compared to other bands. Some other bands/peope have a reputation for writing important lyrics - or at least they want you to believe that..so you listen more closely to the words. I've always felt Jagger's lyrics were more another instrument in the song than words you needed to understand.

Yes. Our hotel ran a shuttle to/from the stadium. Everyone on it was talking about how they heard "everything they wanted...SMU, JJF, etc." I know all of us want them to reach deeper - but when you get 15,000 in an arena, nothing is going to replace the excitement of JJF and the synchronized roar/jumping/dancing that goes with it.

On my long drive to Omaha I listened to Flashpoint for the first time in several years. I made it about six songs in and had to stop before I made myself too sick to carry on. Some people talk about how the Stones should take their current production to Vegas with all the horns and back up singers - but today's group sounds much more authentic and gritty than the crap on Flashpoint. I did

I was there. As a die hard fan, I would have loved some rare material. But, it was the first time the Stones had been in Omaha since 1966 and if they didn't hear the warhorses there would have been a riot.

Does anyone else think this is one of the coolest tunes ever written by a Stone? Keith is funky.

During the day and for all but 12 nights of my adult life, I am a CPA. On the other 12 nights I was at a Stones concert. On those 12 nights I was a raging lunatic. I don't know when I'll get be to be cool again if the Stones retire.

I first started attending Stones concerts during VL. I was only 20 and always felt like my contemporaries didn't give the Stones the respect they deserved. I was even a little sheepish in professing my passion for the band because I felt (unnecessarily) self conscience about the "old" jokes. In the back of my mind I was always concerned that the Stones would become a parody of t
