QuoteJohnnyBGoode I like what I am hearing from the new album! Is it out now?! I like the single; written by a cat from Survivor (and the Ides of March, if you go back that far)

Quotetatters Still undecided about whether or not I want to see this tour. Can't really take the sight of Brian propped up at the piano with his arms hanging limp at his sides, not even pretending to play. Ah, do go! You'll enjoy the show very much. Brian does play a bit, and he sings quite a few songs - his voice is strong. The show is almost 3 hours long and surprisingly high energy

Ay caramba, Graham's new gf is only in her 30s. She's very pretty - has a young Mia Farrow-type quality.

QuoteBobbyb98 Now that Nash is getting divorced after many years... Oh my goodness, I hadn't heard that. Very surprised. He's like 73 or 74 isn't he. His new songs are outstanding. P.S. Joel Bernstein is cute!

Quotewith sssoul QuoteClaire_M P.S. What kind of guitar is Keith playing in the photos above - is that a Les Paul Jr. in tv yellow?! Nice! He's using that one a lot lately, which is more than fine with me! The Ratbag Boogie index has a thread about Keith's juniors where you can read all about it. Thank you kindly, with sssoul. That was a lovely thread you pulled together with all

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Lisa is such a class act. The more I see - and hear - of her, the more I like and admire her. She's an intriguing lady, very much an artist on her unique path. It was good to see that she is regarded so highly within the music industry. Also rather fascinating is ex-Ikette Claudia Lennear, supposedly the inspiration for "Brown Sugar" and - gasp - Leon Russ

I went to far fewer concerts this year: Jack White and Yes are the only ones that come to mind. Going to see Fleetwood Mac tonight. Christine McVie! At last!

QuoteTate I have loved every U2 show I have seen... $300 per ticket... those days are over for me... Unless it is in my living room. Ditto here. I've seen U2 several times, starting with the Zoo era. They are special but not $350+ special.

Epic photos - thanks! I especially love the one with the aviator shades and shiny pinstripe suit. Serious attitude

I've been away from the board for awhile so please excuse if this has been discussed before: what's with Keith wearing a powder-blue satin track jacket? Haven't seen one of those since 1977. I'm not mocking him - goodness knows the man is beyond cool - but it seems a surprising sartorial choice for him. Here's hoping that stretchy headbands won't make a comeback

Lady Antebellum. I prithee do not mock me. I find their songs very melodic, a quality that is sadly missing in most contemporary songwriting.

Quoterob51 Most of you probably already know about Champix the magical quit smoking pill thats been available for a while now. Great invention and because of it's help I managed to quit a 31yr habit no problem. You just take as prescribed while still smoking as much as you like. Then one day after the cig's have already tasted like crap for a week or two you just decide I don'

The Guardian has a wonderful new interview with Chris and Stevie - it certainly looks like the reunion will happen (don't want to jinx things): Fleetwood Mac's Stevie and Christine: 'We were like rock'n'roll nuns' Through all Fleetwood Mac's years of druggy excess and bitter breakups, the friendship between Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks never faltere

QuoteAquamarine And speaking of Zep--six years today since this gloriosity! (Anybody else there? What a night!!) Oh thank you for the reminder! Yes, I was there - Jonesy-side, nosebleed seats. Very happy and privileged to finally see and hear Lord Page in the flesh, he was brilliant. They were all outstanding.

Quotestonehearted I'd rather remember birthdays than deathdays. Raise a glass (of mineral water) to Jim Morrison then, who would have turned 70 on December 8. P.S. Thank you stonehearted for the info on John's sisters. You can see the resemblance with Julia. "My mother was a musical genius, she played the piano, the banjo, the ukulele and the accordian. She taught John all thes

QuoteStoneage Very little content, as usual. There are so many things Sir Michael won't talk about. True. He doesn't look back, at all apparently. It obviously works for him though.

My earliest memory of the Stones is hearing "Brown Sugar" on the radio while traveling in the car with my family. It sounded so alive and exciting that I couldn't understand why everyone else was so calm and indifferent to the music

Lisa is so very talented. I still listen to her hit single, "How Can I Ease the Pain." That last soaring note is epic! I wonder why she didn't seem to give her solo career much time to flourish? Soon after she had that hit song (and album) in 1991, she began singing with Luther Vandross, whom I absolutely adore. Why did she only do one solo album? Maybe she didn't have record

The Dennis Wilson one looks like Huey Lewis mated with Glenn Frey. Very disturbing. Joplin, Cass Elliot and Karen Carpenter are quite reasonable and well done.

Hooray! Great news. I hope they take her up on the offer. She must have gotten bored in retirement. If she kept up with her songwriting, there could be an interesting FM album on the horizon.

Quotejamesfdouglas Saw Eric Burdon this summer at a local festival, put the mainstage kiddes (Fun.) to SHAME. That's the key. If someone can't deliver the goods anymore (no matter what age), then perhaps it's time to move along. But every time I've seen the Stones, they blew the opening act - usually someone decades younger - off the stage.
