It makes me think there is a class based sense of jealousy that the Rolling Stones are still doing so well. Sadly, the daily Mail is still one of the highest selling newspapers in the UK…

It was an incidental question I wondered if Beast of Burden was one of the best tracks showing the melding of Keith and Ronnie’s guitars?

Firstly I really like the song. Always enjoyed the guitars. I have a question though, is it always so trebly or is it just the mastering?? What would be the best compilation or album to listen to it on re: the mastering or recording??

I was listening to Respectable this afternoon. The song rocks hard I think it’s fantastic. Incidentally, is Beast of burden and generally speaking most of Some Girls the best example of Keith and Ronnie’s guitars really melding together..

As for Start me up. Yes I agree with the comments about Ronnie’s solo it’s just sounds very strange. But the song altogether sounds good the sound has melee well with Steve Jordan’s drumming …. It’s good! It doesn’t mean I don’t miss Charlie cos I do! Tokyo done version and flashpoint of SMU I always enjoy!

Wow!! This is awesome. I always loved the song, and it was a real pleasure to learn it was going to be played this tour. It was mentioned elsewhere that the drums are shuffle style anyway SW really effective on this one.Brilliant!!!

QuoteThe Worst. Many good suggestions, but the one thing that made it possible for them to do big stadium tours from 1989 and onwards is the incredible physical (and mental) discipline of Mick Jagger. If he had been overweight or not able to move and dance, or simply lost his voice, it would have been very different. Just think of Elvis at the end. It’s too sad to watch. The fact that Jagger has

Thanks for the updates. Also I enjoyed bv’s report, although very moving! Just listened to the live version of Ghost town. Wow!! I think that’s really good! It looks like the audience were quiet but good response at the end…

I think it’s great potentially that some people may come to the Rolling Stones for the first time, and find out how amazing they are via hot rocks.

Relistening to this album. It’s very enjoyable. Memory motel is great I didn’t listen much to this before. I always like Saint of me. Waiting on a friend pleasant surprise. Sister Morphine , Live with me and respectable…. All great!! Isn’t respectable a brilliant tune!!! I remember watching an old vhs of 25x 5 and seeing Keith I think saying that a lot of scenes in CS blues were contrived for the cameras. It’s the quality of the concert footage that is brilliant and of interest surely. So a volume 2 of crossfire hurricane would be great I think….or a packaging of CS blues concert footage

QuoteRockman Morgan conducted a total of 90 hours of interviews with the The Stones plus Wyman & Taylor ....... Would lurv ta hear all that ..... Yes I agree maybe should be a crossfire hurricane volume 2. I had forgotten how much the Rolling Stones and Mick seemed to push the zeitgeist or cultural envelope in the early days!!

This may have been asked before but I wondered where the footage from US 1972 was from.?? I don’t think it’s from ladies and gentlemen. Perhaps if anyone has a list of the concerts on this film I would be very interested.. Thanks

I felt like I knew him. But I only knew him through the music. I feel a bit bereft, a bit lost… Driving back from work today I played get off of my cloud from Sam Jose 99 very loud!! What a fantastic legacy Charlie has left. Can’t quite believe the news.. Thoughts, prayers and condolences to his wife and family. Thoughts also to Mick, Keith and Ronnie… and all of the Rolling Stones family.

This is I think a realistic picture of the decision, rather than treason they are where they are for these concerts. Also worth remembering the people in the crew needs to put the shows on who may not have had work for possibly 18 months due to pandemic..

QuoteDoxa QuoteTheBluesHadaBaby QuoteGlimmerGirl24 Steve Jordan signed on in early July and was Keith's choice. No idea how long Charlie has been ill, but it does appear the illness was discovered prior to July. Charlie is expected to recover, but it's unlikely he'll join the tour later on. This is put really well! It is the case that they are where they are and it i

Quotetimbernardis What are you guys saying, "They still think Time is on Their Side" and "I mean they act as if they have a good ten years left. Sadly they do not." The band doesn't think that, you guys act as if they are pretending or arrogant. They know their time is short. How do you know how they think or act anyway? plexi This is true that’s why it was ca

Very great praise for this brilliant song. I so agree doxa here it’s really well put. With our current thoughts for Charlie…I think this is a fabulous song!! Can I please ask, by the way who is doxa.? He always writes really well and I enjoy reading the entries. A final point …. Great praise for the quality of mastering on the grrr! album.

QuoteDoxa One can imagine it wasn't the easiest task to make a follower to "Satisfaction". The song was an anthem of the times, and since it was not based on any determinate, matured song-writing, but more that of happy incident of lucky amateurs, in which every star happened to be in a right place, repeating that would make anyone a bit nervous. Like Keith described. The choice
