It’s interesting reading a little of what people think of green day. There’s quite alit of negativity. It’s good to find people who appreciate them. I’m very interested to delve into some of the background to them …. Surely they can be enjoyed on a number of levels… bubblegum and merely ephemeral.., and on a more interesting level.

Just listening to American idiot, I think it’s great. I remember listening to welcome to paradise song and then dookie when it first came out. I borrowed billet on a bible and watched the dvd …, I thought it was amazing… interesting politics about war etc. Surely American Idiot resonates even more in the post Trump world.

I think I certainly would like Rolling Stones to grow old disgracefully. I think it was 1989 when they were inducted into the hall of fame ?? Pete Townshend mentioned that they should grow old disgracefully..

Bitch, buy and boast that’s quite funny.!! Yes there is often a lot of bitching for a fan site. I see the point about a fairly interesting set list in comparison to all warhorses

I had never heard the Brussels affair version.... it’s brilliant.. Incidentally have made a playlist of ladies and gentlemen and Brussels affair side by side. It’s all good stuff but ladies and gentlemen is very muffled sounding compared to Brussels...

I like this idea... so today’s (Friday) euro millions is 90 million gbp. It would be a fun way of using 6-10 million.

QuoteKRiffhard Hey Negrita/Hand of Fate (terrific songs) We Love You Honky Tonk Woman Monkey Man Child of the moon I wanted to comment on Doxa’s entry, this very interesting and well written. Start me up was I think my first Stones song , then I have subsequently enjoyed the excitement in the live versions. Some say they get tire of it, I actually don’t!!

Yes I agree I really like Stealing my heart as well. I noticed that they played Dont Stop on licks 2002 tour instead of this one. I would have liked to have heard it live. Another current favourite would be Jiving Sister Fanny... but as people have said only 5?? Favourites change all the time. I think it’s great that we have so many to choose from..

Certainly the lyrics might be problematic? in today’s PC world. Lies seems to be a retort to the punk bands at the time, I think..

Quotecrawdaddy As a music producer creating ' The Wall of Sound' back in the 60's, was a great sound from so many varied performers. Unfortunately he was a very troubled man who seemed to have to point a gun at people who may have said or done the wrong thing in his presence. He deserved to be in prison , and nothing can excuse the awful things he did. This seems to be a good s

Hello everyone, I would like to echo all these thoughts. Thanks bv, a couple of years he dealt very promptly when I needed new password. There is no excuse for death threats... and as mentioned these are not proper fans. I am interested to know more about bv, is he part of the Stones inner circle? Anyway, thanks again bjornulf for a great site..

Quotehopkins I would say with no little apprection, in addition to the steady soul groove and tasteful fills on a ton or two of em; and the steady glue of his particularly no nonsense personality, which I find charming and Def held the Stones together in the mid to late innings as much as dear Ron. But... Also do remember quite a bit of crashing about in Ya Yas, which delights me, and there

QuoteNilsHolgersson Interviewer: Charlie, with some bands, the bigger the band gets, the bigger the drummer's kit becomes. Your kit has always remained quite tastefully restrained.. Charlie: They haven't got quite big enough for me yet.. the Stones, when they get bigger I'll add more. And they're expensive. This is a lovely idea that the Stones aren’t big enough yet... to

A cursory read of this thread, is this about the Sympathy for the Drummer book...? I am looking forward to reading it. Charlie’s contribution to the Stones is unmatchable. I have noticed in recent inter

Hello everyone, I actually really like it.... have just listened to the version on bridges to beunos aires.. obviously with Bob Dylan. It’s well played, band tight guitars good. Surely you can enjoy it for what it is ... works well live. It’s not as good as the original but has its own merits!!

One of the interesting things in this Brian being asked about the end of the Rolling Stones in 1965. Also how middle class and gently spoken he is....if he had lived would he have collected a set of different accents like Mick??
