"... that Dylan rehearsed a completely different set to the songs he chose on the night, ..." That's what I read too, as the excuse. I thought it was Ronnie in his bio but Keith sounds as likely. That Ronnie had a problem with his guitar and monitor at some point is evident, Keith didn't seem to have a problem, nor did Bob. Back then I had the impression that they were p

QuoteCristiano Radtke My guess was based on the fact that Bob seems to be a History geek (the Titanic connection, the battle of Balinalee, or this Antoin Ó Raifteirí poem - all of them unbeknownst to me so far - thanks, Bob!). On any case, both you and me now heard about this place. QuoteCristiano Radtke All the lyrics for “Rough and Rowdy Ways” are now published on BobDylan.com Now that we

This doesn't have to do with the fashion it was created. It simply sounds awful and it could have been avoided. I'll return to listen to it over the laptop speakers.

OK, finally made it to listen to the song on proper headphones and now it sounds better – but also worse. The track is full of clippings, very incompetent production job! Brickwalled to the max and beyond … all the crackling and clicks you can hear almost constantly are not some futuristic percussion effects but simply cut-off wave forms. It's appalling to hear (and see) such a thing in a p

Florian Schneider-Esleben, co-founder of the legendary group Kraftwerk, is dead. This was announced by the Sony company in Berlin on Wednesday, citing Kraftwerk founder Ralf Hütter. Schneider-Esleben had died from cancer. He was 73 years old. Never really my cup of tea but Kraftwerk were certainly quite influential.

QuoteHairball Seems clear to me he didn't inhale, and it was just a quick puff... While there is some risk even with that, probably didn't put too much thought in to it and went for it. He's been around a chain-smoking Keith and Ronnie (and others) for decades. This one puff will not have added much to he bill.

QuoteDoxa "failed in the charts", "major setback", "rethink the strategy"... I wouldn't really see it like that. Setting aside the charts thing, and the which charts thing, their (or Mick's) present activities are rather a pretty clever strategy. First this charming version of YCAGWYW that gave them a good slot in mainstream news media around the world,

Quotegeorgelicks Blue and Lonesome reached #1 in the UK thanks to the heavy discount of the deluxe edition on Amazon, 3 copies at £20 during the first 5 days of sale, the album sold like hotcakes at that price. Observationally it seems to me that they pursue a low price/discount strategy with new releases already for quite a while. When B2B came out, it was sold over here (Austria, in pre-Euro

QuoteGasLightStreet LIAGT lifts the gloom of thinking they've been screwing off. I have thought/felt for years that they're just been doing a whole lot of nothing and that nothing will come of it. I'm glad to say I was wrong. Whether you were wrong or not is still an open question, so to say. For the moment there's exactly one new song, and Mick said it took him only a

Well done, Sir! evil tongues even say he's put an innocent barber at risk by having his hair cut So the patriot factor is that it was a French barber and not a British one?

New study from Austria: After testing people from 27 hot spot/high risk places (mainly villages/towns in Tyrol and Upper Austria) for antibodies only 4,71% were found to have antibodies. Needless to say, these were people that had not been diagnosed with Covid19 earlier nor did they have an active infection at the time of testing (April 21-24). The dark figure of undetected infections in hi

Remixes - There hasn't been a Stones remix yet that gave me the goosebumps so I'm not holding my breath for this one. All remixes I remember always just took something away but didn't add anything new/worthwhile. Autotune - When doing this ride with several hours of radio racket I was surprised/shocked how many songs still had autotune (practically all). I thought the trend had

Spending half the night on the highway I had the doubtful pleasure to listen to the radio for several hours (reason: misplaced USB stick). Despite being no 1 in the iTunes charts over here (and no. 50 on shazam ) Ghosttown wasn't played even once. According to the DJs, a ton of never-heard of people (at least, people I never heard of) have new songs out but the Stones didn't even get a

QuoteElmo Lewis Can't Mick and Keith write TOGETHER via Skype or something? Technically they certainly could. They could even invite Ronnie to a Skype (or other) conference and work in a threesome. QuoteRockman The one bit of good Stones news in the middle of all this, however, is that Jagger and Richards have plenty of extra time on their hands now. “We’ve got another five or six tracks and there’s a lot of sort of soul feel about it for some reason without anybody intending to,” Richards said. “Obviously right now we’ve got nothing else to do but write some more songs, right?” Y
