Hi Mongoose, I am someone that used to post here from time to time, moved on from posting but still enjoy checking in and seeing what others are discussing. I too have loved the Stones for a very, VERY long time and will be seeing them in Pittsburgh and hopefully also in Raleigh. I came back on just to tell you how much I enjoyed your post and all the great memories. Like everyone here, I

as noted, there is a Hilton downtown Pittsburgh. It is in quite a beautiful location, right at the point (almost) where the three rivers meet. There is a ton to do in the area, as the downtown Pittsburgh area is enjoying continuous revitalization. You will enjoy - but traffic will be something you will have to plan for. Highly suggest taking the walk to the show. Driving to Heinz Field from t

I've always though the album was ok, even before I was into bootlegs. Not great, not bad, just good. I did feel that ten songs was a bit short. Where I have issue with your post, btw, is your characterization of Ya-Yas and LYL. Ya-yas is good but awfully overdubbed. Shows off the band at the time, and yeah, it's one of the better ones. Love You Live though, is to me absolutely f

Quote24FPS Jagger seems happier away from the Stones. The Stones seem like a job and he's contracted to be with these certain people he's not really interested in playing with anymore. I hate to say you're right, but I think you're right. Luckily, he fulfills his part of the contract awfully well. I think he does like playing with them somewhat, though. When the Stones pu

Quotejazzbass QuoteFreeBird QuoteSwayStonesPlus wasn't it during this tour when Jagger began to sing something like "Honky tonk, Honky tonk Women "& repeat it instead of singing as he used to do "it's a honnnhonhonhoonky tonk women" if you understand what I mean ? Didn't he already do that at Hyde Park? Of course, he did it "properly" again later

I don't care about Dylan one way or another. I really wish the Stones would release more bootlegs and stuff though. I loved those bootlegs they released last year. We need more, more more

well, my views on the album are well known (and I'm not shy about promoting readership): As for the song, I consider it the true masterpiece of the album. Like it or not, it's cool they took the risk of recording it without a bass. It's stripped down, genuine, and short and on message. No BS. VERY underappreciated song. MM

I think we all agree with you, it'd be a great formula. The issue seems to be incentive. Here's a question - if they came up with another 8 tracks on the caliber of Doom and Gloom and One More Shot, put them together and released as an album, would people be satisfied? I think I would be. Ten really tight, strong songs (I like both the new ones), no moronic filler, something wit

I have to assume the OP hasn't seen the most recent shows. I have. Keith is playing better than I've seen him in a long, long time.

I saw those too and regretfully didn't grab them b/c I thought a friend was coming who can only do 85s. My experience is exactly like yours. some of the 279s are starting to come up on ticketmaster but it's just out of my range.

the counterfiet ticket thing is a real problem here, which bums me out b/c under normal circumstances I'm extremely comfy working with scalpers. But...I'll figure something out. Just can't afford more than 200.

I went to the Philly show on wednesday. great show! Had no trouble just walking into section 106, and moving to about 10 rows behind the floor. ushers couldn't have cared less. What's the risk anyway? that they'll say sorry you can't sit here? No big deal. Go, enjoy the show, have fun self-upgrading.

I'll tell ya, it's not thrilling me to read it. During the Philly show, when they went into HTW I said to myself "please don't do the extra "Chuck" part" - but they did it. I can honestly say that it was the low point of the show. Miss You...funny thing. It is kind of boring but you look around, there are 18,000 people there woo wooing and all...so I guess t

Who cares who influenced the Stones' playing? They're lucky to be on stage with the Stones. If the guest walks off somewhat influenced, they should consider themselves really fortunate. I was skeptical but Paisley was great, adding a lot of life to Dead Flowers. No complaints at all. God if it were Taylor Swift, that would be a bummer.

can you tell us (and those of us in DC in particular) where you saw the posting, so we can avoid it? Stubhub is pretty reliable though, so I'm assuming it's not Stubhub. btw, an hour before the show (we already had our tix) we saw someone selling floor tix on Stubhub for 200 bucks.

I never saw the 85ers go on sale in the day or so before Philly. Can someone tell me if I just missed it? We did get the 147 tix and then moved down a bit and had a great view, even if not right up close. Great show, could not be happier. I do want to share my perceptions of the show and will soon. It was probably the best I've seen them in a very long time. Really tight, with someth

frustratingly, there's still nothing for Philly 1 and it's now 3:34 EST. I had noticed earlier patterns showed that the tickets were opened up around noon and I've been checking regularly. But no luck yet.

QuoteTooTough This one sums it ALL up: "Each Rolling Stones show is like a snowflake: to the casual viewer, they could look identical. To those obsessive enough to look for the details, each is wonderfully unique, magical, and interesting." (about Chicago III) Thanks! I too was struck by that brilliant observation and planned to thank Robert. I am glad someone took the ini
