Leave it to the women to carry the remaining torches. I've resigned to give all the power , musically, politically, spiritually, sexually, et.al. to the fairer sex. Maybe they can clean up the huge mess we left 'em. Forum: Tell Me

It's the remaining band members' choice obviously but its also everyone else's choice to agree or disagree with it.
It's over for me, sadly. The comparisons with bands who lost key members and carried on or re-formed isn't realistic as the remaining members were young/middle aged men who had decades more of living and playing ahead of them.

hey @MisterDDDD - hope you've been well Your posts of tributes seem majorly appreciated for so many people here. I'll probbaly come back and visit them in the future, and for now because I'm processing the way I tend to, I literally can't take in any additional info yet except what fans here on IORR and friends otherwise are posting - as you say, "the show mus Forum: Tell Me

I've read a number of comments from people feeling a bit silly that they are so upset regarding the passing of someone they never met. Aside from saying that there's nothing wrong with feeling what you're feeling, I'll leave a quote I read when Bowie passed.

Charlie is unquestionably the motor that has driven all Stones songs and a HUGE contributor to the music and the ongoing brotherhood. Anyone who has played in a rock band knows how subtle changes by the drummer can lead the band in both energy and tempo but also in dynamics and emotion. Addressing Naturalust's post: According to that logic, the band that set out with Mick Taylor as solo guitarist, ought to have changed their name. At least one prominent poster here seems to be of that opinion.
I understand your interpretation of my logic but Brian was not contributing to the music or the business so replacing him was a respectable business and creative decisi Forum: Tell Me
The Rolling Stones are no more. Period. The band that may or may not form out of the ashes CANNOT call themselves The Rolling Stones and continue to have my respect.

Really?
Yes, Really.
Except "little" was being extremely generous.
If it was Keith with some competent guitarist taking over for him for a few shows the drama would be intense. I just think that Charlie is such an essential part of the Stones that it is ludicrous to perform Forum: Tell Me

The stones have been a nostalgia band propped up with non-Stones for a long time now....so why am I thinking they should cancel the tour without Charlie?
1. Because Charlie is a uniquely amazing drummer who’s style and attitude has defined the roll and longevity of Stones music and is the only member who has kept his sound and chops faithful to the very best o Forum: Tell Me

My local library called to tell me they have the Goats Head Soup deluxe set for me to borrow. I very much want to hear the Blu Ray CD version of GHS. I want to see if it's even better than the SHM CD of the new remix.
Plus I'd like to hear the Brussels CD and see if it sounds better than the streaming download I have.
